Could you provide some BBC and Australian ABC links? I'm in the Western US...Thanks.

You'll be geo-locked out of any Australian ones and I assume the same for the BBC. You can use a proxy server to get around this. You'll have to Google how to do that and the better ones cost a little money.

Otherwise your best bet is YouTube, Vimeo etc. Just search in them for the topic of interest or keywords.

One method is to Google something you're interested in and find a documentary by the BBC, NOVA etc and then look on YouTube etc with a few keywords to see if someone has uploaded it. Avoid actually typing BBC or PBS or such as they tend to patrol said sites and pull down their content if it's easy to find.

There are many downloaders available to enable you to save content from these sites. It's usually best to get one you actually have to pay for and they aren't expensive. I use FLV Downloader Pro and I'm very happy with it. It comes with some handy conversion software.

Hi,

Oh man, can't believe I am still watching this series. I am not sure of what to make of it.
I find it enjoyable if you can learn to ignore most of it, which is designed in an attempt to be dramatic. I watch for the little bits of actual reports from various agencies that have followed leads over the years. These leads are just as credible as the Soviet accounts in that they are hearsay with no actual proof. [Don't I remember that somewhere in recent history the Soviets produced a piece of Hitler's skull that failed DNA testing?].
As the series states, if the story that we have been told is taken to court, it wouldn't hold up. So it is interesting to see what sort of hypothesis these guys can come up with.
I missed last weeks episode so I am wondering if they made any connection from the NJG Base in Denmark to Spain. I thought they would rerun it this week but they didn't, but I'm sure they will some time in the future.

Nonsense. Read through this carefully referenced entry. The skull stuff is explained in it too. The Russians (not Soviets) were just mistaken about the skull fragment they had. The dental evidence is clear.

I'd rather see: a "Historical Game Channel" broadcast (of which none exist) of game AARs (or whatever) of all types on cable, broadband, ect..

Actually there was one on TV, it was a British TV show called "The Time Commanders" Not sure how long ago but I do remember watching it. They would recreate historical battles and people would play according to what history had recorded for those battles.

Time Commanders is back after many years away.

I loved it then and I love it now. [:)]

They use the Total War engine for the battles.

I like Edward Woodward's (Callan to the UK, Equalizer to the US) "Battleground" from 1978 (they use miniatures... From Edgehill to Gettysburg)

I prefer this, rather than listed to the History Channel's version of the "Monster Trucks" advertisement announcing style of narration.

The thing that got me was that the series stated that the dental records found near the Lehter train station wasn't Bormann or they couldn't determine. I read the old books by Lad is Faragos or something like that about Bormann being alive. I don't buy any of this. I believe Bormann dies with Dr. Trumpeter as seen by Axmann. Still nice pictures of Tangiers especially on the cold nights of the north.

Hi guys, oh no, Watching the latest episode and they are trying to determine if the Nazis set off a nuke on March 4, 1945. I am like ---- WHAT!!!!!!!! I almost fell off my chair, now they are at the epicenter, in Thuringia, the local expert says an unusual explosion, SS used prisoners near the explosion.

Not sure of what to make of this one, man- reading about Germany for over 40 years and still learning new stuff.

Interesting, http://quinnc.bol.ucla.edu/demise.html

Exploring the lake in Bariloche, Argentina, revealed some interesting structures, but they could have been there to protect Argentina's lead nuclear scientist, who was German, and not necessarily Hitler. The show makes the assumption that Hitler was living there, but of course fails to produce any evidence no matter how scanty, and doesn't investigate the owner/occupants of the curious secluded lakefront mansion with underground facilities.

Always an interesting show, but easily watched with skepticism. And of course I again watched the Oak Island show, another hour of my life wasted watching these poor guys dump millions into a 'money pit', lol.

Oh, Spz, I watch oak island as well, the thing that gets me, why would someone 500 years ago to go to that length to bury something 180' deep?

It just doesn't make sense, put yourself in the shoes of a pirate or knights templar, you wouldn't do all this.

I'm with you, and I don't think that they will ever find anything. However, for the sake of everyone that worked and died there over the past 300 years, I HOPE they find something.

They did say that one group of pirates had a history of building elaborate tunnel systems, but I didn't do a wiki to see what they were talking about and now I forget who it was.

I agree, I hope these guys find something. I just wonder about that one stone that was found long ago.

I read a bunch on Bormann and I thought at one time it could be true about him living. However, with the DNA match and Axmann's story about him being with Stumpfegger, he died in 1945. That's my belief. Now, what happened to Gestapo Muller?

I watched a show on the science of DNA and was a little put off by the amount of guesswork and supposition that goes into it. Results can be tailored to expectations.
It seems like DNA evidence is often taken as bible, when I don't see how it can be. So it goes for me with the DNA testing for Bormann's 'remains' that it falls into the category of circumstantial. Without that as proof we are left with the testimony of an officer who could have been ordered to tell a story to cover the escape. And as I recall he stated that he left them and returned later to see two bodies in the area but he did not approach close enough to identify them. Then some 20 years later a different person came forward and said that he buried two bodies found in that area in 1945. Then investigators could not find the bodies where he said he buried them. Then later two bodies were found near the area. To me this isn't even good circumstantial evidence.
So for me, the story of Bormann is the same as the story of Hitler, that lacking any real proof, all possibilities can be considered.

Who was Gestapo Muller ?

Both Oak Island and HH are fun to watch. I read about Oak Island as a kid - hope they find something.

As far as Hitler goes I don't believe they ever got him. The US, England and USSR were looking for him into the 60's.

I find it hard to believe he got out of Germany. Guessing he died tring and is in some unmarked grave near Berlin.

But is a nice show to watch :)

I've been waiting to see how they connect from Denmark to Spain. This doesn't seem possible by air, due to Allied Air Supremacy.

Leon Degrelle flew from Norway to Spain in He-111, so it was technically possible, especially after capitulation.

Ok thanks, I didn't know that. But if you hadn't watched the show, I was referring to the way that they were tracing a 'possible' escape route. To recap from memory:
1. There was a tunnel leading from the Fuhrer Bunker to the Tiergarten.
2. Hannah flew a plane from the road there to make sure it was possible [they had removed all of the light posts].
3. The next day another pilot flew a two seat trainer from the same road to a Luftwaffe NGJ base in southern Denmark.

They had already established German bases in Spain [also well known historically]. They theorize that one of the night-fighters in Denmark could have flown Hitler out, but I am wondering if they think he was flown to Norway or somewhere else in Denmark to catch a sub and then go to Spain, or do they think it was possible to fly from Denmark to Spain.

Both cases seem a little wacky to me. Hitler probably wasn't up to a long sub ride, and even in the most advanced night-fighter a flight over the Allied dominated airspace of France would seem to be extremely risky.

Well, desperate times require desperate measures [;)]

Heimlich Muller was a top Gestapo official and most believe he ended up in Syria. He was working with Heydrich and Kaltenbrunner.

Maybe this will be the next show

Watching the show now Juan Keller=Martin Bormann? I like to believe things but after 35 years of reading about the Third Reich, I still can't believe it. Once that skull was found in Berlin it sort of closed off for me the thought that Bormann escaped. Still a good story and some doubts for others.

I did catch one inconsistent testimony . Part of the story-line was that Bormann was in Argentina then fled to Chile with many other Germans when Peron was ousted from office in 1955. Bormann then died of stomach cancer in 1959 and was buried in Chile. Later, a 'witness' said that Bormann fled Argentina after Eichman was caught. But Eichman was caught in 1960.
Well, I can accept some inconsistencies in such a story.

They did put forth the theory that Bormann's remains were exhumed and reburied in Germany so that they could then be 'found'. That explains the 'dna' matching, and the 'Chilean clay' on the skull fragment. They also touched on the CIA's reasons for remaining passive in some of these affairs. So for me, I have no issue with the Bormann story.

However, in this episode they lost touch with Hitler and instead kept tying Hitler with Bormann, as if the two of them traveled together. I think that is pretty weak.

Poor Marty and Rick found more irrelevant refuse on Oak Island that will encourage them to continue spending millions. [:(]
