they don't owe anything except to deliver a product of which they promise.

It is strategically wise to give customers more than the bare minimum, especially in a very competitive market. The games market is flooded, and superior service is one of the best ways to move ahead of the pack.
(I don't even know why I'm telling you about this)

Trust me, you shouldn't.
but start reading and researching about hips protection and how to block internet explorer from starting.. there are sooooo many ways to secure Internet Explorer from scripts buddy.. but you should know that already..

I'm the type of professional that removes those backdoors - in software and in hardware. I know exactly what's involved. Don't tell your grandfather how to chew soup, youth.

My point is, after a hard day's work of protecting systems, I'd rather not have to do surgery on my own just for a game. But it's clear you will never understand - you only think you know things and you've never worked a hard day in your life.

Believe it or not, my point isn't to come here and argue with you but to help you start a game that way too many people have run into the same problem..

and it either involves IE,WMP, drivers, or Directx, or simply installing the redist folder programs..(XNA)

You seem like you have the same 1-millionth case of something not installed or disabled.. like Internet Explorer or Windows Media player etc..

I don't know why you think you are going to be able to control your computer. Unless you specifically made each chip certified by you, another company made all the chips in your computer and they do whatever they want inside them. You can't take "out" backdoors to your computer unless you have a privately funded computer chip company make chips for you on your motherboard..

You will eventually have to learn to let go of the controlling aspect of your computer because no matter what, in a couple of years, you will be forced to upgrade to whatever hardware and software is available anyway. And trust me, there will be open-door policy in the future..

Now, on the note of runnine the game being so paranoid about your system, well look, I don't know how much money you make, but there is no way I hope, that you couldn't afford a second computer either just for games or just for business..

so that would be one other option. and then you can "enable" Internet Explorer or whatever things you are so worried about.. and on that second computer, just never go to any bank websites or put in any passwords.. it's pretty simple.

if you think having a second computer is too difficult, well then just tell me how many phones do you have in your house right now? how many cars do you own? I don't think a $400-700 computer that runs Distant Worlds will break you right?

of course this is the ridiculous example of it.. but seeing that you are so paranoid about security, I don't understand why you don't have a backup system anyway that you can use for things like this..

take this how you want it, but this game works and you paid good money for it and especially if you only paid $25! the game used to be something between $60-90+ if I remember correctly.

Go relax and think about how life won't end if you allow Internet Explorer or Windows Media PLayer on your computer.

Unless you put all your bank passwords and credit card bank numbers etc.. on your computer, what is going to happen? some kid will force bad pictures to show up on your computer? or crash your hard drive? (in which today we are in the era of extra external hard drives for backups etc..)

I don't know what else to say.

try comodo Firewall? [:D]

Bullshit. Your point here is to be a troll, plain and simple. I did not ask for your help and you've been nothing but an annoyance.
I don't know why you think you are going to be able to control your computer.

Because it's my job to secure computers? Did you not understand my last post?
Unless you specifically made each chip certified by you, another company made all the chips in your computer and they do whatever they want inside them. You can't take "out" backdoors to your computer unless you have a privately funded computer chip company make chips for you on your motherboard..

There are companies who do this. We order ours from a company we trust (and are contractually on the hook for their quality).
You will eventually have to learn to let go of the controlling aspect of your computer

Are you going to tell my boss's clients this?
I don't know how much money you make, but there is no way I hope, that you couldn't afford a second computer either just for games or just for business..

Well, you're wrong. I can barely afford to buy games at all, much less a whole computer - Mr. Privilege.
if you think having a second computer is too difficult, well then just tell me how many phones do you have in your house right now? how many cars do you own? I don't think a $400-700 computer that runs Distant Worlds will break you right?

Excuse me, President Trump, but like I said earlier, I can barely afford the video game. Being out that $25 pretty much ends the year for me - and it's only January.
of course this is the ridiculous example of it.. but seeing that you are so paranoid about security, I don't understand why you don't have a backup system anyway that you can use for things like this..

Wow, you've really never had to worry where your next meal came from, have you?
Go relax and think about how life won't end if you allow Internet Explorer or Windows Media PLayer on your computer.

You clearly have never had anyone try to kill you either. I have. I know exactly what will and will not kill me. You don't.
Unless you put all your bank passwords and credit card bank numbers etc.. on your computer, what is going to happen? some kid will force bad pictures to show up on your computer? or crash your hard drive? (in which today we are in the era of extra external hard drives for backups etc..)

I have clients' information on my computer - if some cracker got a hold of that, death would be preferable to the treatment I would receive.

To finalize: You are an over-privileged, under-punished troll who is full of crap. Quit bothering me.

Please note that a lot games using XNA, requires Windows media Player.

And how many games use XNA? I can probably count them on one hand.
More than you think, but that's besides the point.

I'm sorry if you are not happy with this but unfortunately there is not much more we can do to inform customers of the system requirements prior to them purchasing these, which is why it says that it needs IE and WMP on the product page.
I'm sorry if you are unwilling to enable these and are now outside the refund window on Steam, but this is shown with the text below on the product page.
If you are unwilling to enable these then you need to ensure you are not purchasing games which need these to run.
Additional Notes: Requires Windows Media Player, Internet Explorer

I'm going to lock this thread as it is turning into personal attacks.
