Things seem quiet, but there is an underlying tension. No one sleeps easy.

Great Britain and France are making their alliance a core piece of each nations' defence. Some territory and troops have been exchanged to optimize support and logistics.

No recon reveals any German units to speak of. We see German forces, but not in strength. The Soviet Union wonders if the West is telling the truth, as this might imply the Germans are perhaps in the East.

China is taking losses fro the Japanese occupier, but giving some in return.

Small Japaneses offensives in the last month with mediocre results. The Japanese Army needs better equipment.
Germany and Italy are maneuvering in the Diplomatic Front.

The British government has taken a strong advisory role in Turkey, and joint training between Turkish and British troops has begun in earnest.

In China recruiting continues to be strong, with fresh, but untrained, troops entering the ranks.

The world is quiet, except for China where an active war goes on.

Things are still calm in Europe.

In China the Japanese are hurting us with airpower, artillery and naval shore bombardment. struck back with artillery, but we have much less.

Germany is at peace, some work is being done at the diplomatic front. The German economy isn´t in good shape for a war of conq.... I mean for national defense against agreeive nations.

Italy: Spain signed an alliance with Italy

Japan: The Emperor is more and more inpatient with the lack of progress in China. The surface fleet was ordered to block and Bombard the Hainan Islands. While some success was made, this fleet spends more oil than the Japanese can produce in one month. The Japanese airforce is gaining some experience against the Chinese but causlaties inflicted to the enemy are much smaller than the Chinese replacement rate.

Like the Axis the Allies are enjoying the peace. We do not want war and are certain our quiet stance promotes confidence. We see no signs of aggressive posturing on the Axis side.

China is suffering under unremitting bombardment. Hangchow in particular is reduced. The Japanese take very few losses from our attacks and we have little hope for peace.

Germany is at peace. The living standards of German people are increasing as productivity grows, of course, some of this productivity improvements were used to build defensive weapons.

Italy has just developed a new Fighter. The first squadron of the Fiat G-50 is now fully operational.

The Imperial Navy has destroyed Hainan defenses allowing the disembark of a SNLF regiment. The first Chinese city took in 1938, hopefully, there will be others.

The peace is appreciated by the whole world.

China is not at peace and the Japanese are using painless attacks, hurting China, with no losses to Japan. We do use air and artillery to strike back, but the Japanese have more. The USA puts Japan on notice that our government is watching the situation in China with concern.

October 1938

The Czech people decided to join the Greater Reich. The Czech coal mines will be useful for our defensive build up.

Italy: More Fiat G.50´s join the Regia Aeronatica, while the new L6/40 tanks also roll out of the production lines

Japan: After the operations in Hainan are finished, the Heavy Warships of the Imperial Navy turn their attention to Hangchow. The city is reduced to ruins, but these ruins are still guarded by thousands of Chinese soldiers
In the North Front, a Japanese offensive was stopped by Chinese hagtag militias, despite our massive superirity in artillery, aircraft and tanks. More than 13.000 Japanese soldiers were killed or captured by the enemy. The loss of 60 of the Type 95 light tanks is very worrying to the Japanese High command. The Japanese commander commited suicide in the battlefield.

Nov/1938

-Germany is currently occupied with the pill.... I mean economic development of Czechkoslovakia.

-The Duce is so enthusiastic with the new L6/40 that he ordered an armoured division to be created with these tanks. Some advisors tried to explain him that this tank is slightly better than a tankette, but he didn´t pay attention to them.

-Japan is back to the somewhat ineffective but less risky business of killing the Chinese with artillery and aircraft

We still have very little information on the German and Italian force distribution. This means we speculate endlessly.

Hangchow is taking a horrible pounding.

Italian Forces expansion was halted by a shortage in supplies

Germany builds a chemical factory

Japan is running out of fuel due to the intensive use of its battleships. The bombardment of enemy units by artillery and aircraft is giving disappointing results. A chemical factory was built in the Home Islands, it will hopefully alleviate our fuel shortages.

Rearmament is the policy across all borders, but will it prevent or encourage warfare.

So far there has not been any European war, but can Peace hold?

The peaceful landscape is marred by continuing war in China.

China is trying to get Rifle1 rather than conscript, but so very few can be produced. The ratio is about 3-1 or 4-1, so conscripts are necessary.

Japan is using a lossless tactic, bombarding rather than trading their more valuable troops for our conscripts.

Austria decided to join the community of Germany speaking nations.
Hitler: Maybe we will be able to conquer all the world with diplomatic maneuvers, are you sure we must buy so many tanks?
Goebbels: My Füeher, I fear you didn´t read the game rules....
Hitler: Well.....

Italy is too busy by improving its economy and inviting nations to join the new Roman Empire.

Japan finally made a land attack in China, results were deemed good and no official commited suicide, so these are good news.
Nakajima presented its new fighter, the Ki-43, it´s said to be superior to the Bf-109D. An order of 500 aircraft was placed.
