I had some luck (a 51mm mortar firing four times in a row and destroying a 251/1 and a Sherman - not a Firefly - killing a Tiger with a close range (2 hexes) side shot but not so much.

Three Tigers were destroyed by a 75mm Cromwell, a 95mm Cromwell and the 75mm Sherman mentioned above. The remaining two were destroyed by APDS shots from a Firefly and from the Achilles, and the Panzer IVs were all destroyed by the two Fireflies (what a waste!).

Tonight I'm going to try playing this scenario with the Germans: I am afraid it will be a one-sided massacre...

The scenario is much more challenging when played with the Germans.

The Fireflies have been deadly (they killed all of my AFV losses: the lone 251 that was looking for trouble - and found it, two Tigers and a Pz IV). The game was won thanks to the B** leader, which was subject to double Battle Hardening, becoming an A***. With such modifier (and a HMG), it proved vital to break the British defense in the stone buildings. Unfortunately, he was KIA by a Firefly CMG ([:@]) when I assumed that two wrecks provided enough hindrance to cross the street safely. They didn't.

P.S. Why "Villers-Bocage 2"? Did I miss "Villers-Bocage 1"?

Maybe, you missed Villers-Bocage page 2 of submitted scenarios. Too difficult to reach VP, Tigers too weak, OBA unnecessary, etc ...
So, rather than update it, I prefer to make a new version more challenging.

[X(] Ooops, I missed part 1!

This one is not easy for the Germans, even if you avoid a straight charge into the village, which will bring you into the sights of all the British tanks waiting for you. I staged a double envelopment attack: two Tigers and part of the SS infantry attacked from the north, while the PzIVs and the Elite infantry attacked from the south (and took the second VP hex on the last turn!). The last Tiger dealt with those pesky recon units and advanced down the main street of Villers-Bocage after all the British tanks were destroyed (then, its supposed elite crew (all of them certified ubermensch [:D]) went OOC in the first VP (15,24) for three consecutive player turns).

Playing the British is much, much easier: I moved the British tanks around the village so that they should be able to take flank shots at very short range and this strategy worked quite fine: I lost 6 AFVs anyway, but three of them were the recon unit that starts being fired by the Tiger on turn 1. I think there is no way to save them: I attempted escaping with the Cromwell (the AI didn't even target it on Turn 1) but it was promptly destroyes as soon as it started moving [:(].
