The Germans launch three successful attacks in Poland (Danzig, Poznan, the Vistula bend north of Warsaw) and the war is on. Ground strikes missed Rydz, but the Polish navy was destroyed in the assault on Danzig.

Terauchi railed to Kaifeng.

Yamamoto was shipped to Shanghai.

The forward ChiNat Cavalry was hit by a ground strike.

France and CW took naval moves and put their main fleets to sea.

Six French cruisers entered the Baltic, but couldn't find German convoys (9&10).

RAF Blenheims raided Essen and French bombers hit Stuttgart, but no damage (3&4).

German fighters react when the Polish air force launches a ground strike on Rundstedt's HQ.

The P23s get through and the fighters abort back to Brest-Litovsk.

The USSR occupies Vilna and with it eastern Poland. This costs the Allies 1 US entry chit (roll 2).

Lodz fell to the Germans, in the rain.

CW land, France combined, China land, USSR & USA pass.

French cruisers can't find in the Baltic (10 & 10).

CW land garrison forces in Malta and Gibraltar.

No aggressive action. End of impulse. Weather clears globally.

ALLIED #8 SEP/OCT 39

Warsaw fell to von Bock, and Katowice to von Leeb. The Germans have defeated Poland in the first turn without sustaining casualties.

Denmark was invaded by Germany. Frederikshaven and Copenhagen are occupied.

In Frederikshaven both Danish warships are destroyed but 2 cps escape to Newcastle. 4 more cps were in port on Iceland.

CW and France combined, China land, others pass.

The six French cruisers are now trapped in the Baltic. They press on with the mission. On 4&8 they find German convoys.

3 German cps are destroyed.

But in round 2 the French ships find German naval bombers.

The French use surprise points to increase AAA.

But some German planes get through.

The Germans abort CA Foch, which is destroyed as it cannot exit the Baltic.

6&6 sees both sides fail to find in round 3.
