Thanks for your continued commitment to the game, Peter. Not that I am surprised, as it has been a life-long endeavor for you from what I understand! Not all developers take their projects so seriously.

Peter,

So far update 4 is playing pretty well for me. The speed of the game has improved greatly and the color coding
of units, messages and information is a super big plus. So to I like the text additions for the map. I made a medium size
test scenario to check the new features out and it played pretty well.

I had units starting on board (Infantry and armor) and reinforcements coming in on turns 3 & 4 and there seemed to be no loss of speed.
The visibility was set at 10 hexes. I even had artillery and while my artillery lost battery contact after only one
mission, the A/I's artillery hit some of my troops twice causing havoc.

Overall I think you did a nice job improving playability and moving TotH forward with this new update.

Cheers!

hi all
Install the update 4 did not give any trouble. Some considerations after a day of testing. Color is very useful in writing. To use the text I tried to modify the map 2 by entering the "infamous" "Hill 621". I saved the map but refilling it does not keep the script. Does text work only in scenario editing and not on the map? Regarding the 45% improvement in speed, I was disappointed. I did not notice significant improvements, perhaps a 10% maximum. Use the latest generation PC (INTEL 4.40 GHz processor, 16 Gb DDR4 RAM, Windows 10 64 bit). Anyway I will do more tests and then I'll tell you. However, thanks to Peter for the effort and for his professional seriousness in dedicating himself to this magnificent game. I look anxiously with new armies (Italians and French) and new features. TOTH, a dream come true!

You need to save a scenario in order to save the text labels. Text labels are not saved into a map file as only the scenario file structure was modified.

The performance is better up to 45% and it is visible. You can test it yourself, load say UPDATE3 TOTH.EXE and load your scenario file in the game. Then click on Check los button on the toolbar, on that dialog on the bottom will show time for FOW processing. Now quit the game, load up UPDATE4 TOTH.EXE and load your scenario into the game and check los again, look at the dialog and compare the times - you should see quite a nice time difference.

. I will try as soon. Peter, other 2 questions for you:
1 - Has the SMOKE function been implemented? I've seen the Stug IV 105mm can shoot smoke. This is a fantastic (few published)
implementation. Thank you Peter!
2- I can not get Target Combat Advisor running. In the manual it is written to use the middle mouse button, but
I do not see the data window. Does the middle button mouse need to be set in some way? I havent understood. THX for all

To get the middle button working you need to be in a fire segment. Then select the unit you want to fire in the Unit Control Panel. Move the cursor to the target hex and click the middle button. If this doesn't work check your mouse settings in the control panel

Ok, I've changed mouse setting and now all is ok. I've played several times scenario 4. All the German AFV have smoke, but only if I play Human vs Human. If I play with Germans against AI the smoke is not avaible. Is correct this?

Ticonderoga60,

Smoke is only available in Human vs Human game, it's not yet available when playing against AI.

First screen says: Downloading:TigersOn TheHunt-UpdateComp-v1.0.8.1.exe....

Last screen says: Error: Unable to download file. An error occurred whil trying to open an FTP file.

Is there a way to manually update?
