There is indeed no immediate need to attack Persia.
However, 3 oil instead of 1 is quite good and even might become a necessity later in the war. When playing with the oilrule the CW oil usage is/becomes pretty high late in the war. I used to almost run out of oil with the CW and the 2 extra oil from Persia counters that. My god the RN and the RAF eats up oil!
I don't get why Germany would be pleased if the allies attack Persia. Maybe if they do it in '41 because of the US Entry, but that is something you need to keep an eye out for and should never ignore. That's basic WiF (for me at least).

What offensives does the CW have up to the end of '42?
They cannot do anything big like invading France or Italy, so like historically, they have to attack where the axis response is doomed to be low.
Normally I use '42 for taking/strengthening North Africa, and setting up for the invasion of Italy '43. While doing so, taking Persia is just a little sidestep and back before Italy gets invaded, while my armies are in the region anyways. Allied TRS make their actions very flexible. 1 turn they can be part of an offensive in this corner of the world, next turn they can be unloading in another.
As far as strategic reality goes, or I'd like to say relevance, attacking Persia (and be back before a large invasion of Italy in '43) is better than a '42 or even '43 invasion of Morocco/Portugal/Spain because the Axis took it and are very strongly positioned there.

Finland 1939 is not just Bluff, if Stalin properly sets up for it. It is going to get conquered. Provided he is mindful of the weather, ofc. Paras and/or invasions are also needed (it becomes tricky if playing without invading divisions). If nothing more, Stalin has an extra resource that Germany doesn't have and if Germany comes to retake Finland later on, it's just another detour, distracting from the main push inland Russian soil. I do agree the US Entry might hurt, so indeed, careful discussions with FDR on the matter are needed. More often than not, the allies fail because they do not properly cooperate and just do things 'because I want to do something fun'.

Rebuilding the find costs ~30BP + the effort to actually liberate them, U.S. will loose ~20BP for being a turn late on the gear ups if the chit lost is a good one. Fair trade I guess.. But obviously you have to agree to it.

Wallies strategy is a another pandoras box, maybe we should put that into another thread.
