For me it reads: € 24.99

I already have hefty backlog and I haven't even installed all the games I have bought (Combat Mission 3, Homeworld 2, most of the Heroes of Might & Magic series...). But do tell me is the game any good, and how good is it. Looks like Sid Meier's Civ at a glance, but with more collectible resources than gold/wealth.

[edit]
Perhaps better comparison would be Colonization? So is this Aggressors anything more than Colonization with different skin? Is the game even as good?

I purchased it yesterday from Matrix $29.99

I think it will be fun - easy to play hard to master as the old saying goes a lot to consider.

Currently game is only single player against the AI - no multiplayer - no pbem May be added in the future.

Looks interesting, but so far I think I'll wait for multi-player.

I told them to wait until the Ides of September. But did they listen? No! [:-]

I used my Anniversary coupon (redeemed on 8/1) to pick this up late last night/early this morning. I was undecided about getting AAR. I told myself if the coupon still worked then I'd get it. The coupon life must've only had hours, maybe minutes left on it, but it still worked! Thanks Matrixgames Now I just need to find some time to play it...

I'll buy at full price but am going to wait for a unit mod (hopefully provided by the Devs) to switch to better scaled

units with multiple smaller soldiers vs the existing single giants.

Sounds petty I know, but immersion to me is also an important factor along with good mechanics - so I can wait ....

I found this piece of info and I'm drooling now... I have decided: I'll buy the game and place it on download for overnight!

In the last 20+ years of buying wargames this game is in the top 5 for me. It is an excellent game! I take a break from it, play something else for awhile, then go back to it.

So I got the game downloaded & installed from Steam (only 1 GB of size) and opened the manual file. 247 pages!!! [X(] What have I gotten myself into... [8|]

Well, in my view much better a 247 page manual than no manual at all, as with Rome: Imperator. Wikis don't cut it for me... at 247 pages, The Rome: Aggressors manual is rather comprehensive, but you don't have to read it all.

Kuokkanen,
Be sure to go to the games's forum on the Slitherine site. The developer gives A++ support. He usually answers questions within 24 hours. A lot of good info there about gameplay etc.

+1

Something I love about this game is the way everything ties together. The balance between resources, structures, units, population, and loyalty is superb. Want to build a Fort...make sure you got enough wood not just the initial build but maintenance. Build a couple of units in a size 3 city ... the city may shrink to size 1. 'Everything' and I mean 'Everything' ties together.

I hope, considering the new Ancients games hitting the market, this doesn't get overlooked. An excellent game IMHO and deeper than it may appear. Historical based with 4X qualities plus a random map generator.
