FULDA 76 MikeJ19 is WP, larry is NATO

Mike picked up on the hole in my lines and he's driving units that way. I've got to put a plug in that hole before too long or this game will be a lot shorter than normal.

These are some of the attacks that Mike instigated. I see from the losses columns that Mike's side lost a tiny bit more than my units did. I have no idea what causes that except that my units might have a tiny bit higher proficiency or something. Maybe the American equipment is a tiny bit better. That is encouraging.

Unfortunately, I didn't have any units I could move that far so the hole in my lines is still here and Mike is surely going to drive through it in this turn. I did what I could to slow down Mike's advance by breaking the bridge just north of all that Soviet armor in the center. It actually might not make all that much difference.

Larry's defence is tough to get through. My lead elements are pretty tired, but they are keeping up the push against the NATO troops.

I was very surprised to see the Armour Bn in Fulda - Larry managed to sneak that one by my main line. This is a nuisance and will delay me a bit... However, I hope it means I can destroy another NATO unit.

Here's what the WP forces did in Mike's turn. He got some reinforcements this turn and drove them into the middle of the fray. I would have tried to outflank the NATO forces myself but he's done serious damage to the NATO forces and isn't through pushing yet..

I've been trying to find ways to outflank Larry, but my units are getting really worn out.

This is an interesting challenge and I am enjoying taking on Larry.

New moves from my opponent and this is the setup before I start the combat playback. I'm hoping to be able to show you the "after" as well.

There weren't very many moves by Mike this time...he mostly just moved a few units to surround some of my units and destroy two of them. The third one is armored and is holding out so far. I need to check out the expected reinforcements and see if I can find any good news.

Here's the result of one of the battles that I thought I would comment on...there's no WP planes at all supporting the Soviet side. I'm wondering if that means they are all resting or shot down already or what. I've got plenty of NATO air assets airborne I see. I'll have to investigate that further.

Here's what it looks like after I have moved all my units. I plugged that hole on the right side finally but now the defenders in the north are stretched thin. So I'll have to adjust things again. So far so good.

New moves from Mike and he didn't move very far but he did destroy some of my units. I'm not sure what to do now exactly.

I thought I'd take some of my heliborne troops and go drop some bridges to see what results I might get out of doing that. They are all expendable. They knew what they were getting into when they signed up. When this is all done I'm going to build a wall along the river and I'm going to make Mexico pay for it.

Turn 9 and I just watched the combat replay and Mike destroyed one of my units but didn't move very far. I have no idea what I'm going to do. Let me stare at the map for about three full minutes.

Here's the condition of the aircraft and they are all green and yellow which means I'm not driving them hard enough. The ocassional orange one means that it's just about hard enough and one red one means maybe a little too hard. Or an aircraft that got ambushed and is just temporarily down for maint. I haven't been moving my planes around and I might ought to since airfield strikes using SSM's or long range arty is one of the best ways to get rid of enemy aircraft. So if I keep my aircraft moving to various airfields Mike might lose track of where my aircraft are and they might get hit less often. Not that I have all that many airfields.

T10 and new moves from Mike. During his turn Mike destroyed one of my units and ended his turn. I see trouble brewing on the north end of the front lines. I feel like I ought to build a Duncan Donuts somewhere near the north end of the front lines to keep the actual shooting down to a minimum.

I somehow missed that Larry had sent me his moves. I kept thinking I was waiting on him... Oh well, glad we can resume this battle.

New moves from MikeJ19 and he's made some progress on me and I need to pull out my secret weapon and win the war. Opps no secret weapon. I forgot to buy it back from the pawn shop. Mike is going after my aircraft with his SSM's and there's no defense for that. I'll have to try to take them out with my arty and aircraft. I don't have very many tubes that will reach that far, if any, so I'll have to depend on the airstrikes. I've decided that I don't need to use all 561 hexes for the range of my planes, 50 hexes will do nicely. It's just past the off-map area on the east side.
