RE: Allies vs. Skynet

Ok, so it's actually September 1941. Sorry that I did so many turns without reporting but I kept waiting for the Axis to declare war on the USSR and it finally did at the end of August. Not sure how much time they'll have before bad weather but I only fight Skynet, I don't understand it's reasons. But, there has been much that has happened. First, the Africa corps has taken Egypt. I don't understand how it had supply levels of 7 while fighting me at the Quattara depression while my supply levels were 3-4 (with the O'connor HQ right there) but there you have it. The AK basically killed my armies and two tank units with no problem at all and very little loss to itself. I have an army holding the Sinai but that's about it.

In Ethiopia the Italians have had a supply level of 7 (again, not sure how Britain in Egypt is a 3 and and the cut off Italians are a 7) but, no progress has been made at all.

The Naval war has gone pretty well. the German subs have not done much and I think that most of the German surface fleet is dead.

The Chinese continue to hold their initial line and have recaptured a town in the south. Japan really is in a quagmire over there and US entry looms as it has slapped the oil embargo on Japan.

I tried to take Dakar to no avail and did not sink the French fleet in operation catapult. Yugoslavia had it's coup and was crushed and the Germans just delcared war on Greece which is about to be crushed. But, if it's tying down German and Italian units that could be in Russia I'm not complaining.

Speaking of Russia, the Germans destroyed the border armies with very little loss. I have been able to get a couple of fighter units to run away, now we'll have to see how much Russia can mobilize, the loss of 3-4 summer turns will not help Germany at all. Neither will the fact that Rumania and Finland are not in war yet. Hopefully they will stay out.

It now November 1941. In China the front lines have remained pretty much the same with losses on both sides and no gains by Japan. The Flying Tigers have deployed and the Chinese are making a play for Canton. The US oil embargo is weighing on the Japanese so expect war sooner rather than later.

A British army is holding the Sinai but it gets dinged and is unable to reinforce so that won't last for long which means that the Axis will break through pretty soon. I do have two Indian units trying to put down the Iraqi coup and it looks like India is going to have to try to hold something in the middle east. I still don't understand how Germans in Egypt were at level 7 supply and the allies at 3.

In Russia snow and mud have started. The Germans finally took Kiev and have a bit of a breakthrough north of that city where I mistakenly put a heavy tank unit that was promptly destroyed. But, the Germans still have not taken Riga or crossed that river. The Soviets have evacuated industry from the Ukraine and Finland has just now joined the war. Greece was conquered.

The British have formed the SOE and convoys to Russia have started from both Britain and the US. The Italians have formed the expediitionary corps for Russia.

Well, I guess everyone at Matrix is too busy to answer the question about why the file size here in the AAR section is 200kb but its 5 mb in the tech support section (and 1 mb in the AAR section of WitPAE. So, while they're taking a no doubt well deserved spring break here's the latest.

The western allies continue to cling to the Sinai while closing in on Baghdad. Not much supply there so I'm not sure how long they will hold on. Germany has been aggressively building uboats and it's been hard to get a concentration to kill them since they frequently dive away from attacks. There has been a minor amount of bombing.

In Russia the russians held Riga until November and then were able to pull the army out to Leningrad. The Germans have pushed through Kiev and threaten out flank the Russians west of Smolensk from the south. Zhukov has deployed to the Ukraine where the Russians hold the line from the Crimea up to Kursk.

The big news is the Japan launched its attack against the US on December 19, 1941 as the US was preparing for war. The Empire of Japan has taken the Philippines sank the US fleet at Pearl but it continues to suffer in China. Hong Kong held out from the initial Japanese assault while a Japanese amphibious invasion took Pokoi and cut off an elite Chinese corps.

You don’t have to upload images at all. I use imgur you create a free account and drop your images there then you click on the image and a dial box pops up and I select the second from last button and paste that in.

https://imgur.com/

When you grab the link it looks like:

Code: Select all

But when you paste it looks like (this - note I selected the text for the button to select):

Zoves,

Thanks for the tip. I think I figured out how to get the file size down to about 300 kb or so using the microsoft paint. I'm going to try to load one of those files here and, if that does not work, I'll just shift the AAR to the technical questions section.

The file was still too large. So, if you'd like to keep following this AAR then it's being moved to the Tech Support section (where the file size is 5mb!)
