as laptops down get the amount of air around then as the larger desktops, so can't keep the chip as cool, so with use heats up to much for the fan to get rid of it quick enough.
Some laptops have heavier cooling, more performance, more weight, and more cost. In addition even though certain processors are made the same way, there are some individual differences between different units which may have effects on heating and reliability. Less reliable processors can still serve their purpose by reducing their performance, thus increasing reliability. And that's the reason for different MHz/GHz # of the processors and their costs, even if they were made the same way. When end-user increases performance (MHz #, latency, whatever else) over the specs, it's called overclocking.
You know what they say, don't you? About how us MechWarriors are the modern knights, how warfare has become civilized now that we have to abide by conventions and rules of war. Don't believe it.
