...and we Germans do the same regarding the PISA study, where the Finns are a lot better than the Germans.[8|]

I don't have any confidence that a camera-equipped non-recon type aircraft will raise the DL more than 2 points.

Hans, have you noticed any entries in the OPs reports file (not that I claim to read it that closely) showing the camera equipped fighter bombers in the Burma theatre taking photos while they are assigned to ground attack?

I am talking about this sort of report, which was for 20 TRS flying a recon mission. I don't recall seeing reported camera use during attack missions, even though, for example, the FR Hurricanes carry a camera + bombs.

Time again for a refresher on recon.  See my post in this 2019 thread

https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=4619635&mpage=1&key=camera&#4620485

and follow the linked threads in the tree.

There is no "Tac Recon" in the game.  If there were, there would also need to exist "Strat Recon".  The reference made on page 141 of the manual is unfortunate a it sets the hares running at shadows which don't exist in the game.  Fighters or fighter bombers equipped with a camera, assigned a Recon mission don't fight their way to the target any more than do bombers or dedicated recon aircraft assigned the Recon mission.

There is Recon and there is Recon.  It is all essentially the same thing, conducted under the air Recon mission.  During the turn resolution, reconned locations are displayed, using a unique graphic for that mission, as they are undertaken.  This information is captured in the Ops Report.  The unique recon graphic is never displayed at a bombed location (which has its own unique graphic to denote a bombing mission) nor is it displayed as a combined bombing/recon in the Ops Report.

Bombers assigned a Recon mission, conduct recon.  When assigned a bombing mission, they are not conducting recon.  Page 150 of the manual is less inexact than is page 141, but can be misunderstood.  The act of bombing provides, as a bonus, a mechanism to retard the normal, scheduled, DL decline of the enemy unit.  It is basically an after action photo.

Well, when I do my turns full with the gute Bavarian bier, I'm quite relaxed and don't care at all for the details...
