I could port my World War Three 1946 Mod over. There wouldn't be much happening in the far east, however. The US and Soviet plans both concentrated on the West and Mediterranean/Mideast.

Nothing in Korea? China? Maybe even Indochina? At this point (early/mid-1946) Communists controlled North-Eastern China (AKA Manchuria) which was Soviet-occupied until March 1946 and then the subject of a struggle between the KMT and the CCP thereafter. North Korea was governed by the "Provisional People's Committee of North Korea" from February 1946 onwards and for game purposes it would be fair simply to make it North Korea. Communists were also conducting an insurgency across much of Indochina and even at a much lower level within Malaya - for example Haiphong and many other Indochinese cities were communist-occupied in early 1946. You could make Communist China a major power even, since this would distinguish the tech-level of their troops from those of the Soviets.

Manchuria was also a reasonably strong industrial powerhouse in 1946, as benefited by the legacy of Manchukuo. Communist China with Manchuria can definitely stand for their own as a major.
Moreover, USSR also sent supplies to both Communist China and North Korea via Port Arthur/Kwantung/Dalian (then named Lüda), which was a Soviet territory/naval base until 1950; these supplies pretty much contributed to Communists' triumph in China and early stages of the Korean War.
No conquest without labor.

A remake of classics 1948 World At War scenario would be nice.

I did a lot of research on the years between the end of the war and 1950. By 1948 the US had too many nukes and the Soviets had some. NATO had also woken up and it would have been near impossible for the Soviets to overcome both the disparity in nukes and the strengthened opposing armies.

The Spring of 1946 was Stalin's window of opportunity. The US had 4 nukes with one on it's way to Bikini Island for testing. The NATO forces were a joke made up of raw recruited who were taught how to be policemen. They had no clue how to even start the tanks they were given and the radar units weren't turned on most of the time because they lacked the specialists to keep them running. 80% of the bridges were rebuilt in Western Germany with a clear path of good roads and rebuilt RR all the way to Southern France. There were virtually no veterans in NATO's forces in Europe. All had been sent home. The commanders were jokes just getting their ticket punched.

There were over 100,000 US and British deserters still running around causing mayhem, especially in Paris which had the highest murder rate in the world. Millions of refugees needed to be fed and moved back to their home countries or the Soviets could use them as slaves.

Surplus equipment was everywhere along with huge fuel and ammo dumps just waiting to be used by an invading army. The depots were manned by 100,000 German prisoners and were supervised by under 2,000 recruits. At one point the Soviets in Czechoslovakia were 90 miles from the Rhine. The French underground were all communists and didn't know about the evils of Stalin-ism.

1946 was the year.
