Fleet oil use are only based at sea. mech tank and air are based at the moment. All this has been fixed. I am not sure if it made it to this new patch. Matrix handles the packaging and I uploaded the patched version late the night before. They may or may have not gotten to it.

I hope so, this is pretty fundamental. Managing your oil as the Axis is an important part of the game.

If not, will you put it up as a beta patch (1.07)?

Naturally. I got the steam release tomorrow so I have to answer a lot of questions from the new Mongolian horde of players.

Actually you reminded me. I should do a quick question answer thingy so I don't have to answer the same questions I did here again.

The updated manual should also help a great deal. And glad to hear there will be beta patches still.

I am puzzled by the expected behavior now.

From the manual:
Oil Maintenance – All units require oil to keep them in. If no oil is available for an oil unit, the units do not get the base recovery for effectiveness but do get the supply level and headquarters effectiveness recovery. For land, air, and naval units in port, 1 oil stockpile of maintenance is used for every 10 units/naval groups on the map. For naval units not in port the naval group’s oil use factor is used keep them at sea. Keeping naval units at sea is very expensive. Units on a map supply level 9 do not use oil as they get supplies directly from the train. Oil maintenance reflects trucks driving supplies to the units from the rail.
Oil Use In Combat – Oil dependent units also use oil to attack and defend. Land and air units will use their oil use factor every time they attack in a turn. They will use it once if they move. Naval units are not subject to combat oil use as this is already factored into their maintenance. Defending air superiority groups have a 50% chance not to use oil when defending over friendly territory.
Oil Use – How much oil a unit uses to move and attack. An oil-dependent unit uses oil only once for movement no matter how many times it stops to attack. Land and air units use oil each time they attacks. Naval units use oil each turn if they are away from a port, no matter their action.

Does it mean now that?

For land and air units, if there is no more oil stockpile:

1. I expect no more attack will be possible
2. There is 50% chance that air superiority groups will defend over friendly territory per the above manual rule in blue.
3. I expect no move will be allowed anymore
4. But if the unit is located on rail, it is still possible to perform a rail transfer to another location

For naval units, if there is no more oil stockpile and the unit is in port:

1. I expect no move will be allowed anymore?
2. Or, do we allow naval unit to move at sea?
3. I expect the naval unit is still allowed to fight per the above manual rule in green.

For naval units, if there is no more oil stockpile and the unit is at sea:
1. What is the consequence? Do we consider that the unit has enough in its hull to return to port?
2. Are we destroying the naval unit because the crew scuttles the oil-free unit to prevent the enemy from taking it?
3. I expect the naval unit is still allowed to fight per the above manual rule in green.

Thanks

Land and air yes. You need oil stockpile to fly or attack even defending air sups

Naval you need to have at least 1 oil to move out of port. If you are at sea you can move. You are already loaded with fuel.

Clear, the above blue rule won't apply and the defending air superiority groups will not defend.

Clear, you can continue to attack based on the above green rule. And, at the end, you will be forced home due to low supplies.
