I am glad to see someone try China without additional Chinese cities, but just looking at that map I think that we will now know why we play with them!
I thought I knew how to play this game....

No pact between the Soviets and Japan is interesting. I've bolstered the Manchurian garrison as a result.

Thanks Courtenay.

It's a brave, some might say foolishly reckless, attempt to see whether the China vs Japan situation can provide an enjoyable gaming experience for both sides whilst still using the existing game mechanics rather than house rules.

Gazing at intelligence reports of the latest Japanese deployments, whilst they are all fervent party members, the Chinese Communists start identifying and praying to any god remotely associated with rain and/or winter weather. "It's all just superstition but who knows and we need a contingency plan" said an unidentified spokesman.

The German set-up is a little different to the norm (well the previous tactics haven't been conspicuous for their brilliant results [:D]).

Rail Movement: None
Land Movement:
Germany

I am unable to get decent odds on either of the two key Polish cities and so look to mop up some of the outer Polish defence first. Troops move on Danzig, Eastern Poland and the forests northwest of Krakow.

Japan

The Japanese move on Chengchow, while a reduced level of reinforcements head south.

Land Combat:
Japan

One attack is announced against Chengchow - no aircraft are brought in

Germany

Three attacks are announced (see picture above) - no HQ Support or aircraft are brought in

The choice of table doesn't matter for the German attacks, but what about the Chinese? I guess it must be assault as there is no retreat path?

The Nationalists move a couple of units.

The Polish INF at Poznan moves to NW of Lodz.

Wavell debarks to Nantes, Gort to Bayonne.

French INF debarks to Nice.

No combat.

Polish pilots fly to Kaunas and make their way to the UK to join the RAF.

B-18 and PBY rebase to Pearl.

Weather remains fine.
