I blame partly for playing so fast. i had left a UK fleet with 2 CVs in Plymouth. Not a goog idea when a large part of the Luftwaffe is in France. After bombing them in port both CVs almost sunk. I sailed out and launched a attack on Brest which damaged 2 subs and scharnhorst. In the following Axis turn one CV and mayba a CA was sunk and I retreat to Glasgow.

Luckily the French fleet arrived so I have a good amount of ships but one less CV.

Not that much happening. I notice buildup in Ireland I think maybe the German government want more Guiness.

On the seas RN in vain try to find some German raiders.

As expected Ireland is attacked. But maybe a bit ambitious. I can easily send a British corps to Ireland and we are in bad weather season and with some port blockade supply from Belfast should be firly limited but we will see. Maybe it is a trap to draw units from mainland UK.

And no sign of a build up in the east. Next turn November if you want to launch an invasion in May there are not that long to go and it does take some time to shift over to the east.

Not much going on in Egypt but a daring raid in proud Royal Navy tradition the navy sails into Tobruk harbour and sinks an aircraft unit still onboard the transports. A good catch also less transports if the idea is to maybe invade the UK later.

But the following axis turn the whole airforce bombed the navy and sank the Malaya and damaged a few others. Landbased air is wreaking havoc in both games.

On Ireland not much going on. I hope to hold it at least until good weather returns.

Blockade of Belfast kind of works as most transports into the harbour with units get some fairly significant damage.

Land an arm corps in Ireland to bolster defense.

Otherwise looking at losses land is not that bad air is ok but MM 102 in oct 40 is a lot. UK nor Canada is building anything else than MM and Escorts. No offensive building at all. Strat bombers forget it. At least the subs take some damage from escorts and by some luck I have only lost 2 escorts but those raiders are making my hair more grey than it already is [:)]. Not sure but maybe the odds of finding them need to go up a little bit. The removal of 20 oil is also pretty harsh if you want the Royal Navy out to sea to try and find them.

In Egypt the standoff continues.

Looking at the forces the UK army is of a good size so thats something but Canada a bit weak also airforce weaker.

1940 comes to an end. No signs of any buildup in the east. Spies in Berlin claim that German HQ is a bit indecisive about what it wants to do next.

On Ireland same thing frontlines stare at each other.

Its early days yet but thinking about the changes in the Beta patch I have some thoughts.

I think the British oil nerf might be too hard. Just last turn I had an income of 37 oil and spent 63 on chasing the very elusive German raiders. My opponent who lost Iraq in the other game says he is down to about 30 oil per turn.

As per the end of 1940 in both our games the British have not once found the German raiders. I am still undecided if that is bad or not. For sure the UK buildup is now a dribble. UK build basically only MM and escorts and some upgrades, Yes army is a bit bigger but airforce barely grown and landing ships being barely built. But maybe that is the way it should be this early in the game. We will see how it plays out later.

Lots of air losses for the Germans at this point and the Brit land forces look like didn't pay much so far. At near 300 Air Step loss I suspect anemia to try a '41 Barbarossa?

This turn I lost 22 merchants for 0 German losses. The Atlantic is brutal especially the raiders. I have since January 41 shut down southern Atlantic route. I only build MM now basically. One turn I shut down North Atalntic but and I didnt know that then you shut down the south Atlantic too since they join together. So that turn I had 0 production basically. So now I know why you have to defend North Atlantic so much. Ypu can turn off South but not North.

All this damage done with the German fleet and 6 subs.

Some naval action outside Gibraltar as the Italian makes moves to try and take it but this time the Royal navy was kind of ready but still lost the Warpsite. Never seen so large naval losses for the UK as in this game but it is fun.

In Egypt the standoff continues.

As can be seen so much UK merchant losses. In all honesty German sub losses also very big that is all subs as I have yet to manage to find a single German raider.
