It just hit me that I've never tried a strategic bombing campaign with the UK. So... experiment decided for this game.
The UK maxes strategic bombing research, the US turns if off. By spring 41 we will buy as many heavy bombers as we can with the UK.
No planned land offensives in the Med.

Nothing of note happens. The UK is being extremely defensive. Two infantry corps have arried, an armoured corps is arriving on 25 June (two turns).
All AA guns have been moved to Plymouth.

The UK finally gets 40 Assault and Heavy tanks.
Germany overruns the Netherlands (and bombs its DD unit).
U-boats sink 4 merchants and an escort.
Oddly, the Germans make two 1:1 attacks on Luxembourg.

Heavy rain over all of Europe. 5 u-boats sink 7 merchants and 2 escorts but take a total of 4 steps of damage.

Germany overruns Belgium. U-boats sink 3 merchants and an escort, but suffer 3 hits.

The UK stops all naval research except Convoy Escorts.

U-boats sink 5 merchants and 2 escorts (French ones) but suffer 1 u-boat sunk and 1 step damage.
The Battle of the Atlantic is going well!

France suffers 1 corps shattered, and 3 shattered to the build queue.

One of the panzers, with a specialty to boot, has crossed the Somme.

I think it is time for a counter-attack.

The XIX panzer suffers 11 steps damage before it retreats. We take 9 steps damage.
Could have gone better but at least that's one panzer out of action for the summer.

With 2 paradrops the Germans advance on a broad front.
Two French corps surrender and one shatters.

The battle for France is almost over.

The UK takes delivery of its armour unit. The British Isle should be fairly safe.

Paris falls and Italy joins the Axis. The French fleet stands ready to blockade Italian African ports, but war is not declared.

We're about to find out how effective the "all defense" tactic is for the UK.

U-boats sink 3 merchants. Vichy France established and Italy declares war on the UK.

British forces secure Syria. Otherwise a remarkably quiet turn.

On a whim I send out the Med fleet to bombard and blockade Tobruk. An other fleet sails from home waters to Gibraltar, leaving only 5 vessels at home (1 carrier).
