Pretty quiet turn. I think all of my merchants have exited the PI and Hong Kong area now.
In total I have lost 47 ships worth 639 points. Here is the sunk ship list for the Allies.

I tried to engage an amphib TF at Kota Bharu with British CA and CLs, to no avail and they
were attacked by a large number of Netties, sinking CL Caledon and heavily damaging CL Enterprise
I lost no aircraft today. No air battles. I have pulled back most of my aircraft, I was not able to
inflect any losses on my opponent, just losing aircraft and pilots for no real gain.
Considering my Variants, I have a few that have kicked in from the beginning of the game and
are making a difference:
1. Add 50 PBY-5 to pool - I have used all of these to fill and overfill all the PBY-5 squadrons at Pearl Harbor. They are now spread across bases in the South Pacific.
2. Add 50 SBD-3 to pool - I have use some of these so far to fill and overfill some CV based SBD squadrons. I am keeping a pool to provide some ability to refill depleted units in case of combat.
3. Add 25 PPs per day. This is allowing me to make many more unit Commander changes that I would normally do. I just changed out the 11th Indian Division commander this turn( cost 56 PPs .
4. Increase 25lb gun by 25. I am using these to fill out the 22nd and 27th Australian Brigades in Malaya and the Port Moresby Brigade at this time. This should give them some more staying power.
5. Change II Corps HQ to temp restricted and cancel withdrawal. This unit is still in the USA, I am planning on using for SoPac invasion support in the future.
6. Increase port potential of Vava'u to SPS(4) - I have units with engineers there and they are building. It will take a couple of months to finish, but I will be able to rearm everything I have there, nice and close to the battles that are sure to happen in the New Caledonia and New Hebrides in the future.
Great to see the variant system in an AAR. Thanks for doing this. If I could make a suggestion, please put a turn date on your posts.
Good choices on the variants. Against the AI I usually boost production of F4F-4s, P-39s, SBDs, PBYs and photo recon (never seem to have enough of those) and fill the P-47 gap. Accelerating the P-47 and F6F should be very helpful, not to mention the CVs and extra divisions.
Did your opponent tell you his choices on the variants?

Lost a base in China, I do not like all the new dot bases Andy Mac has put
into this updated scenario. I will have to take a screenshot or two for show
and tell.
Here is a picture of the Sian area in Andy Macs updated scenario 2
Notice the number of dot bases East and Southeast of Sian. I have to
maintain a garrison in each to prevent a paratroop landing.
I just lost the base with the crossed sabers. I really do not know if
I can hold him off. I have a few options.
1. Just don't worry about it and eventually lose China.
2. Evacuate many/most/all Chinese units to Burma/India.
3. Some combination of 1 and 2.
