Lamentably, its too big to put on here as an attachment, Vetkin.

If you wish, drop me an e-mail and I'll send it to you that way. It is a complete program and it will be installed. I install it inside SPWAW and its easier to access the game files.

And many, many thanks for the kind words. Needless to say, that means a great deal to me...But I'll say it anyway! Thank you!

Thanks Wild Bill :) my email address is derrickvillanueva@yahoo.com

My inbox limit is 4 megs, I don't know if that's enough space?

Anyways, here's version 0.3 of the scenario.

What's new/fixed since 0.2

- Soviet reinforcements now move to reinforce
- Railroad tracks over rivers now have bridges, no more trucks are going to be flooded in a supposedly main Soviet supply road.
- German paratroopers added as a component of their blitzkrieg, to attempt to cut off Soviet reinforcements.
- Soviet AA trucks added.
- Lt. Stielfelder added. I made him up so that the scenario would be more fun, he's a commando who has infiltrated the Soviet supply base, specifically the Armory. He's still vulnerable as he is only one man but he is tough and experienced. Can one man truly make a difference? (think Medal of Honor: Allied Assault except the hero is German.)

The program was just sent to you, Vetkin.

I have the scenario downloaded and will review it.

The program is less than 2 megs in size so it should arrive just fine...WB

A very nice start, Vetkin. Its big but not too big. You handled the paratroopers well. The map looks good. You might want to type in the compass points and put your name in the lower right hand corner of the map as the author.

Forces seem well chosen and nicely placed. It appears to be balanced, but as the defender, the Russian might have a slight edge. Hard to tell just by looking.

The only question I have is about Lt. Stelfehlder (?). Why is he right in the middle of the Soviet defenses sitting on an objective. I don't think he will last long.

With no text file it was hard to tell what I was seeing but Im sure that is coming.

All in all, I'm pleased. You did a very good job on the map, though you might fill in the open space at the bottom with grass and afew trees if nothing else.

For your first, its excellent.

Wild Bill, coming from you that means a lot, thanks! :D Yup, its my first one and I'm planning to make the 2nd mission/scenario soon :D

Here's the final version, bunch of improvements:

- Lt. Stielfelder is gone (not too realistic at all)
- Meatgrinder type of scenario where reinforcements arrive for both armies every couple of turns. Battle becomes much more interesting, complicated and difficult for both sides :)
- Small town placed... (Where the base got its conscripts?)
- Bottom part of map modified with sparse trees to give German infantry some cover from MG and sniper fire.

SCENARIO DESCRIPTION:

BATTLE LOCATION: Outskirts of Mozyr USSR, edge of Pripet Marshes

Synopsis: Germany's launching of Operation Barbarossa took the Soviet Union by storm, leaving many dead and many more starving or without homes. Many are mercilessly crushed underneath the treads of the swift and mobile German Blitzkrieg. Some resistance was put up however even in the early part of Barbarossa. Mozyr is a town on the edge of the Pripet Marshes. This is where later on a failed counter-attack was launched by the Soviet Army against the forces of Bock's Army Group Center(will be tackled in the next scenario.) This scenario deals about a light German kampfgruppe discovering a supply base in the outskirts of Mozyr where conscripts were being trained and where food, ammunition and communications were stored.

The situation is complicated when both armies radios for reinforcements and all available units in the area for both armies are sent into the fray. A simple battle has become a bloody massacre of attrition.

Play as both the Germans and the Soviets as both are fairly balanced and fun to play (IMHO) :D But of course I'd say that... :D

Everybody interested please download and try it, I think you won't be dissapointed :D (Think being the key word here.)

I'd appreciate all comments, suggestions, criticisms and whatnot :D

Thanks!!

And special thanks of course to Wild Bill, Hades, Orzel Bialy, and the others who have tried the prototype versions :)

I'll await your comments... hehe

P.S.

Wild Bill, can you playtest this one too? and tell me what you think? Thanks a lot Mr. master designer! :D ;) :D

Scenario Spoiler!!!

Post by Capt Chris »

SCENARIO SPOILER Don't read any further if you don't want any info on this scenario!

Well I just finished pushing the Soviets out of their city. I got a marginal victory.

Me (Germans): 4000 points
Computer (Russians): 1000 points

I thought the German side was a little easy. I was moving my infantry as fast as I could but they were making slow progress at best (I am very impatient). They finally made it to the city on my last turn.

All of the Russian defenses were eliminated primarily with light armor, with the help of the cavalry and the motorcycles. Like I said the infantry never made it into battle.

One thing I do suggest is replacing the Russian Conscripts with regular army troops. All I had to do was look at the conscripts wrong and they seemed to run away or just freeze solid (pinned). That may give the Russian's a better chance against all of that German hardware.

I am planning on playing the Russian side next week sometime. This is a fun scenario. Not to long, but enough equipment to keep my interest. Thanks for your hard work Vetkin! :D

Hopefully I will get to play the Soviet side sometime this week.

My other hobby (Amateur Astronomy) is taking precedence over SPWaW right now. We are having some GREAT night skies in upstate NY right now and I wouldn't dare miss them. :)

I posted a little note in our AAR/DAR thread regarding our next game.
