I may have spoken too fast. I've tried to update my DB 3000 and CWDB on a scenario-by-scenario basis as suggested, but when I select use DB v495 or upgrade to latest DB, every unit on the screen disappears, friend and foe alike, and I can't recover them. The Order of Battle is null and says I have to first choose a side.

Are you just changing the db or actually doing a rebuild?

Just changing a DB. I start a scenario, and before I do anything else, I try to update the DB. At one point, I was offered a selection of options involving an .ini file and deep rebuild, but I did not select any of those. That option has not appeared the last few times I've tried it with different scenarios.
