I would say it's about right, yes stjeand beat me and "proved me wrong" but he is VERY good and beats me in every game i have played him so it really proves very little other then he is very good. vs other players I have found that it is a balancing act, yes if Japan throws everything at China they can put a big hurt on them, but then they aren't pushing in India, Australia, the South pacific or anywhere else. most times you are better off doing like history and really not doing much, that way China doesn't gain a lot of experience and once you have completely cut them off and get the other allies as beat as you want to or can then turn on China and capture at least some limited objectives.

Same experience for me against stjeand and YueJin. When a strong player is putting all Japanese armies in China plus air cover, there is nothing China can do. I tried, I failed.

I have not had the pleasure to battling YueJin in China...
I knew it would be a slugfest since he like me knows China can turn the game in the favor of Japan.

Not sure I could hold out but would be interesting to try.
