ToxicThug may already know the answer since this game could be many turns ahead. SO, how many turns ahead are you?

You are the "MAN". Now to find that live action feed :) GL, but looks like you are doing well without it.

Battle for Rzhev: Turn 12

Post by ToxicThug11 »

The Soviet Northwestern Front was caught in a trap in the Rzhev sector, and are cut off.

We hold the critical railyards of Torzhok, Vyshny Volchek & Kalinin. We have cut all rail lines into the pocket that will be held by the XXXX Motorized Corps. In a cruel twist of fate, rain begins to fall on us and mud begins to set in. It is possible that this giant pocket will escape. The enemy cavalry and riflemen begin a slow retreat.

Rzhev is captured and the 29th Army disintegrates in heavy fighting. Another 200,000 Soviets are captured.

This should secure our Northern flank for 1941. However, it is evident that masses of Soviet material are appearing infront of Moscow. Every turn, the enemy embarks on massive Cavalry raids, cutting our rail into Kaluga & diverting our Infantry DIvisions to cleanup duty.

Before the Battle of Rzhev: Cavalry raids

Post by ToxicThug11 »

The enemy has been exploiting gaps in our line for quite some time. The pocket at Rzhev is still visible in this image.

I refuse to concede the beachhead over the river towards Moscow, and am happy to annihilate Soviets that attempt to encircle these divisions. The enemy must cross the river through ZOC to encircle us, which is a double edged sword, fatiguing the enemy every time they cross.

The 30th & 33rd Soviet Armies are routed away from the two German Infantry Divisions. While not optimal, we must hold the beachhead at all costs to have the possibility of encircling the enemy. If encirclement is not possible, the ground ceded to us in the event of his retreat will be valuable.

Turn 12: Battle of Tula

Post by ToxicThug11 »

By virtue of Guderian's encirclement, the Germans had destroyed all of the Red Army forces defending the southern approaches to Moscow, opening the way to Tula.

The enemy is already entrenching this city, employing students, women and elderly to dig giant anti tank ditches. Soviet sappers place minefields, barbed-wire fences, deep entrenchments for infantry, anti-tank obstacles, dug-in armoured vehicles. Concrete MG bunkers are manned.

The battle for Tula involves 986 guns, including super heavy siege mortars, and hundreds of heavy guns.

Three infantry divisions commit to the battle, one motorized regiment, three SS batallions & many Pioneers swarm the city which is flattened in a single week of fighting.

The three Stugs of the Special Purpose Battalion perform exceedingly well, likely due to being elite. They score a huge amount of hits per element.

State of the Wehrmacht

Post by ToxicThug11 »

The Wehrmacht is paying a price for victory.

Our truck fleet is falling apart (60,000 in repair) and we have a mere 11,800 in pool due to captures.

The truck fleet is worn out due to our aggressive lunges north towards Kalinin & Vyshny Volchek, aswell as long drives to cut off pockets far away from our depots in the south.

We have a total of 2.9 million men in the field. We outnumber the Soviets by 700,000.

The Wehrmacht has sustained 300,000 losses, including over 3,000 gun losses. 700 of our AFVs are "in for repair", leaving us with a grand total of about 2,000 AFVs remaining in any shape to drive on Moscow.

Still, things could be worse. The Red Army has lost 3,200,000 men, about 32,000 guns and countless AFVs.

Fuhrer orders the total halt of AGN and AGS while logistics catch up & vehicles are repaired. AGC shall continue as normal so as to continue initiative.

In light of this, every ambitious objective has been achieved ahead of schedule.

Turn 14-21

Post by ToxicThug11 »

I've been quite busy with a workload so I haven't been able to update my AAR, but here are some juicy battles!

We attack across the whole line every turn at Moscow, the Soviets counterattack, then sends Cavalry to exploit the gaps.

100,000 to 200,000 are slaughtered every turn due to the immense concentration of our artillery in this sector. The enemy grinds forwards on us in the north, where we are hard pressed to prevent breakthroughs.

Stalino and Sevastapol are captured with ease, relieving the Soviets of 12 divisions in the south.

News from the field: Image

Another pesky cavalry 'division' that has been flipping hexes with ZOC, snaking its way around and cutting railway hexes, has finally been obliterated. It took a great amount of firepower to be sure these 200 cavalrymen were gone for good, which is why a siege mortar was brought into action.

I think it is GREAT that a 278 man CAV Division can force a ZOC to the SIX hexes around their hex! Lots of land to cover and they can cover it quickly for sure. They are on Ponies and are very mobile and illusive. Even 11PZ, the Ghost Division is not capable of such feats. Awesome job (ALMOST) depleted Soviet Cav division. Hope to see many more in this AAR and other AARs when it catches on how powerful these are. Of course many may never catch on to the POWERFULLNESS of this. Anyway great job to the Soviet player.

And they carry heavy weapons too! But because of horses, they don't need fuel or vehicles. And they can move without supply too, because horse fuel grows everywhere.

Rain falls for weeks. Mud follows. It is preferable for us to take the initiative and continue smashing Soviet formations infront of Moscow. Each turn the enemy sends Cavalry divisions to probe and cut our rail lines, each turn we close the gap in our line and destroy the divisions.

We must kill 200,000 each turn to achieve parity with the Red Army. Due to the mud, we have been helpless to watch the Red Army grow to 3.2 million.

Snowfall & Offensives

Post by ToxicThug11 »

Despite the falling of snow, we form a tight ring around Soviet motorized units, rifle divisions and cavalry attempting to exploit our gaps.

These offensive actions, while minor, whittle the Red Army down and make their blizzard offensive less effective.

Sorry have to correct you @HLYA on this but its not the 11 PZ but in fact the 7th

The 7th Panzer Division was an armored formation of the German Army in World War II. It participated in the Battle of France, the invasion of the Soviet Union, the occupation of Vichy France, and on the Eastern Front until the end of the war. The 7th Panzer Division is also known by its nickname, Ghost Division
