Dimitris,

Yes, it is still happening.

Weird. Both groups lost their LEADERS. The group on the right continued on with their attack. The group on the left immediately went to RTB, mission over, passed over the target, and headed westbound. One member of the group did drop one bomb, even though the plane was listed as RTB.

Both groups took off at the same time, and each group had its own mission (ship on left/ship on right).

As you can see the Mission is OVER, but two of the three remaining a/c still have unused bombs, AND fuel is not an issue.

The other group, Flight Jive98, also lost its leader, but it carried out its mission without a problem.

Both took off from the same base, had the same weapons, flew side-by-side, attacked at the same time, each lost its leader, but Flight Jive98 worked fine.

Hi, the issue is probably fixed already in the codebase. I'll double check the submitted scenario just to be sure.
Thanks

"......the issue is probably fixed already in the codebase."

From what I am seeing, when the LEADER has entered IP, but has not yet dropped its ordinance, and is destroyed, the rest of the group goes haywire. They immediately start climbing in altitude for some unknown reason, and while they may still be listed as OFFENSIVE, they continue to climb. It is almost as if they are now trying to achieve the altitude listed at the next waypoint, or in this case, 36k feet.

If you have already fixed this, then just disregard this. If not, perhaps this info will help.

I know that this wasn't listed as being FIXED, but I figured that I would try it with 1307.13 anyway. It is still broken, so I am just passing along some new information.

1.) If the LEADER is destroyed BEFORE it reached the target, then a new leader is selected (as it should), but ALL of the rest of the flight begins to CLIMB. Since the original LEADER had NOT reached the target at the time it was destroyed, ALL of the rest remain ENGAGED OFFENSIVE and do drop their bombs, but they do so from a climbing altitude. After dropping their bombs the remaining members drop back down to 1100 feet and follow the path out as they should.

2.) If the LEADER is destroyed AFTER it has dropped its bomb and passed the TARGET WAYPOINT, then a new leader is selected, and ALL of the rest begin to CLIMB. Since the original LEADER has PASSED the TARGET WAYPOINT, ALL of the rest are no longer listed as being Engaged OFFENSIVE. Instead, they all simply follow the plotted path (which takes them directly over the target) and then flies home while continuing to climb in altitude.

This should be helpful in resolving this.

I believe that I have discovered the cause of this problem.

If you have a group of planes, let's say 4, then if you look at them individually, your LEADER will likely have the Terrain Following-Above Ground Level box checked. If you look at the other three, they will likely have theirs unchecked. If the LEADER is killed, and new LEADER is selected, but the rest of the group abandon what they were doing. Instead of staying at the prescribed altitude, they start rising to the default (like 36k feet, and start heading for home without dropping their bombs. In essence, they lose their minds.

This problem started after the new Ground Effects (tower) were implemented.

By checking each individual plane in the group's Terrain Following-Above Ground Level box the planes all act as they should. If the leader is killed, then a new leader is selected, and the mission continues as expected.
