Hey who authorized any holidays?

You must have missed seeing my statement of leave in amongst all my task reports. Maybe you need a holiday too.

#2- Does this mean surface task forces will still only react to enemy task forces at a friendly base or has this been changed as well?

IIRC, the intention is to look at introducing this change at a later point in the game's alpha development.

Sorry to go off topic, but speaking of a WitP - style Russian Campaign, I have just about finished reading Joel S. A. Hayward's book, Stopped at Stalingrad, The Luftwaffe and Hitler's Defeat in the East 1942-1943 which goes into great detail about the Crimean campaign. Interestingly enough the book provides detail on the key role played by the Axis navy during the campaign, in particular the Italian Motor Torpedo Boat Flotilla (yes the much maligned Italians), who's actions effectively ended naval resupply of Sevastopol. Reading the book has intrigued me to the possibilities of a Crimean campaign using a WiTP engine, with an obviously enhanced Land Combat Unit (LCU) features.

All of the above seem to be a big step into making this the best of all times.

Engineers and Explosives demolition

Post by Koniev »

I was an EOD specialist in the US Army and can state from firsthand knowledge that it does not take engineers to blow things up although they can do that. In Korea, several years ago my ORDNANCE company maintained the largest ammo dump in Korea and one of our functions in the event of hostilities was to race to Seoul and prepare the Han River bridge for demolition. We were fully capable of doing this w/o Engineers. Our big advantage was that we maintained the stocks of explosives used by the Engineers.

I hope some of these features could be added to UV as a patch.
