Heartbreak 😔
How about the American who is still competing even though she suffers from a serious kidney disease? She is also a child of a refugee.

Then in women's swimming there was .06 seconds difference between the winner of a race and fourth place.

No. I didn't even know about it until now.

Have yet to watch anything from the Olympics. Apart from a few seconds here and there.

You didn't bacause it is 'stupid' game also?

Anyway French organizing committee -just like Selim the third in Ottoman trying to force wearing trousers in janissaries- had similar reaction. I think it was very good opening in the river. No need to have have great national ceremony in big stadiums. Some rivers more important about national cult.

Well, do me a favor and watch the women's high jump tomorrow if you can. I want to watch it and see if she can break the world record that she set on the 7th of July! I will repeat that she can jump over me anytime . . .

Bonkers!!!! The Netherlands women cross the line well ahead of everyone in the final Skiff race…… except they didn’t - they mistook where the finishing line was. They then had a 5 minute wait to find out if their 3rd place finish was still enough for the gold!! Fortunately for them it was…..

Fine margins!!!! Team GB show jumpers win by a couple of points. But two of the three horses hit/brushed a fence - but they remained in place. Either one falling and USA would have won the Gold - both down and it would be no medal at all. Fine margins indeed.

Problem about Women boxing. Transgenders should be in different categorie. Could create emotional problems for women teams. Committee says its ok interesting..

For archery Mete Gazoz -mixed teams a man and a woman- lose only in milimetres against Japanese team. Final set was 19-19.

Sadly and gladly I was done with Olympics. The reprobates behavior nonsense at the beginning was enough for me. Gotta be true to myself.

Looking forward to today's action

I think people should be careful when discussing this subject. There is so much rumour and counter-rumour about the status of these women. One thing that does appear to be accepted as fact, is that this is NOT a transgender matter.

Let’s file this in the “what the hell was that all about category”.

No. Team GB’s Beth Schreiver wins all three heat races with ease. She then wins all three semi final races - with equal ease. Come the final and it’s a one race shoot out…. She comes last…… er okay…..

Windsurfing. Team GB’s Emma Wilson dominates the early races - under the old rules she would have won the gold medal. Rules change and this year it all comes down to a top three in a one off final race. Once again the best athlete over the course of the event finishes last……

Agonising…..rules are rules, but doesn’t seem hugely fair.

Bet I would think differently if Team GB was the beneficiary 😄

And who is the transgender? And can you prove it? Because Swyer syndrome doesn't make you one.

https://medlineplus.gov/genetics/condit ... r-syndrome

In Swyer syndrome, individuals have one X chromosome and one Y chromosome in each cell, which is the pattern typically found in boys and men; however, they have female reproductive structure.

People with Swyer syndrome have female external genitalia and some female internal reproductive structures. These individuals usually have a uterus and fallopian tubes, but their gonads (ovaries or testes) are not functional. Instead, the gonads are small and underdeveloped and contain little gonadal tissue. These structures are called streak gonads. The streak gonadal tissue is at risk of developing cancer that is often hard-to-detect, so it is usually removed surgically. Swyer syndrome is also called 46,XY complete gonadal dysgenesis; the medical term “dysgenesis” means "abnormal development."

Another dodgy decision goes against Team GB. Amber Rutter in the shoot off for the Skeet gold - hits the target (which the slow motion confirms) and is given as a miss……of course…. Apparently no video replay in force. Silver it is then……..

These games appear to have been well organised - but the whole “swimming in the Seine” thing has been a massive mistake. One of the poor Belgian triathletes has spent 4 days in hospital with e-coli. Will the mixed event even take place? Or the open water swimming for that matter. Given the problems with the Seine, to not have a back up smacks of arrogance.

Given the number of anti-government protesters of various stripes who were promising to use the river as a latrine prior to the Olympics the decision to use the Seine seems...well...insane.

Especially if those protestors are supposedly environmentalists!

Yes from my understanding and readings Paris committee in 2015 carefull about fair gender competitions and testosterone tests. Later in 2021 it has changed for the human rights equality that trans individuals also have rights and should not be excluded in competititons. They should be in competitions of course but should they be represented in women teams?
