Soviet player needs to manage the airborne brigades of 1941 - if he manages to lose only 3 he could use the others to form 3x GRC in 3/42

You can always play with my mod, which implements the historical disbandment/reorganization of all Soviet tank and mechanized units.

Also, I would personally chill down. If you complain about the lack of historical accuracy, I could say the same about you, pushing to the Don river in 1941 already.

So now, to keep the game somewhat historically accurate, we need to install mods? Interesting. I think it wasn't possible to create corps until the previous patch, with brigades being introduced so early, and mechanized divisions turning into infantry divisions... now the game has become a circus. At this stage of the game, these infantry corps completely destroy the balance. On top of that, the Soviet army's amazing supply chain. Even attacking far forward across many hexes, they have no problem with supplies. Things used to be different.

Here's another strange thing. Multiple divisions in a small mountainous area. The port has been destroyed for many turns. The airport is destroyed and the supplies are green.... They probably break the game every now and then just to release new patches...

I have 2 games in progress as the Soviets.

Game 1. Open TBs. Getting belted. Leningrad lost. Axis close to Moscow and not going anywhere. At T32, Jan 1942. Playing on out of politeness.

Red Army still has 4 tank divs, 3 in TBs and one to disband in 2 turns. There are still 8 mech divs. There is 1 Guards RD created by rename, no Rifle Corps - none. No support unit has gained Guards Status.

Game 2. Closed TBs. Doing better than game 1. Leningrad lost. Axis close to Moscow and has been pushed back. At T48, May 1942

Red Army still has 3 tank divs in TBs . There are 0 mech divs. There are 12 Guards Rifle Corps and 3 Guards RDs. 13 ART and 3 AT gained Guards Status. Probably 2 of the Guards RCs have been created from Airborne brigades being merged. A touch gamey but I havent abused it. I have farmed for Guards RDs in that where there is an obvious win I choose units with the highest number of wins to participate.

Conclusion

If the Axis remains relentlessly aggressive then the conditions that allow the creation of Guards RCs will not be met.
In GGwite 1, armored brigades were created before the winter of 1941, and mechanized divisions were transformed into infantry divisions much earlier. There were no infantry corps either... It was historically accurate and the gameplay was good. Suddenly, someone changed something that had been around for a long time and ruined the entire game balance. What other miracles will you come up with to defend these absurdities? I wonder what's happening in 1943? Maybe the USSR gets a Death Star or Imperial cruisers?

You need ro Naval Patrol and Isolate the Port, then it's a walk in the park to take it down.
