Omaha Continued
Easy Red (Beach 6)
Fox (Beach 7)
And overall picture of the beaches on Omaha -
I soon realized that the Germans had put there units on "Defend" and not "Defend at all costs" making taking the beaches less bloody, easier to take. Good for me but we are both learning the game and having fun.

So far the Germans are out front in the Victory Point total. We are both learning the game together exchanging emails on what things do in the game. We both agree this is a "great" game
. BUT I am not winning at the moment

Turn 4 (Execution Phase (this is execution of phase 3 planning by both the German and Allies)
Execution Phase
June 6 18:00 night turn
Utah Area
Since we are on turn 18 I can tell you Johantje1983 is very aggressive as a German player. This leads to some fun times in this game and some dissapointments. Again we are both learning so you will see us both make some errors that veterans would never do. But hey, it is fun.
The white box area I want to hold and expand (if I can)
The yellow box area are two German units that couldn't get away
The pink box is Germany bombing me with airplanes. I know we haven't seen that icon yet so it is pretty obvious but just wanted to remark on it.
For the most part the attacks were successful and we move forward.

June 6 18:00 night turn
Omaha Area
One beach hex is holding out marked in pink box
Germany defending forward with units in White box.
Plus a German AA unit to the NE hex too
Overall I am happy with the results. But I think defending forward is really a good idea in the American sector. At least try and keep the two American beachheads seperate. What do you all think?

You can see the Germans are defending way forward. The 716th Inf Division (Grey with light blue bottom) is stacked up too
Yes, it is nice for ZOC-to-ZOC movement since each point of stacking is equal to 1 mp. So, the stacking limit for a hex is 9 for everything but City hexes it would require 9 mp's to move through that ZOC if the stacking was maxxed out. So, I try my darnest to do just that but come short
6th airborne is just hanging out recovering

June 6 18pm Night turn
Caen Area
Pretty quit in the Caen area. Of note is an "Ambush" attack on some Germans using Road Movement next to my 6th Airborne unit. Anytime any road movement unit passes by an enemy there is an ambush. So you have to be careful in your planning to not do this. Or do this because you need the unit in place. Your choice.
and a closer look at the ambush
and then the drill down into the battle that adds all things together

June 6 18pm Night turn
Omaha Area
Pretty quiet for the Americans but the Germans have become disturbers of the peace
They decide to bombard and do an attack
The attack had an integrity value of 45%, OUCH! But as the Americans I will take that
I would have just used the 352nd units to do the attack and kept an Integrity above 70%. More units does not always benefit you in this game because of this integrity rule. I love it.
The Germans have been very aggressive the whole game and we are on turn 20. I really think you do have to be aggressive for sure
Going to the final chart you can see also that this attack happened at night and the Americans failed to withdraw from the battle. Also the yellow arrow points to a black dot on the counter which indicates this unit was cut off which is called Isolated in the game.

Planned attacks red arrows and yellow arrows are moving attacks planned. Granted many may not go off if I overstack while moving (hard lesson to learn but fun as heck once you understand it.
Here are the deliberate attacks to start off
