RE: where's my panthers gone?

Post by hellcat »

we pop the crew from a SU76 in the south but there's another one there...

we take some of MD's rear VHs and infiltrating spec ops teams harass the enemy arty park...

fighting remains fierce and although we kill those russian infantry more seem to be found, plus some cavalry on their way to us it seems...

I have units where I don't need them or don't want them and unable to get them where they are needed. Orders are drifting in slowly.

My Arty is damaged but still firing. The tiger on the right commands everything and therefore my feeble assault with cavalry will get nowhere.

The SU's put up a valiant but ineffective fight against a lone PzIV at close range. Can't think why I continue to buy them.[8|]

Sgt Trouserin has been found wandering around confused after his fateful encounter with the panther. His squad now numbers only 3 men but he is advancing again. Unfortunately, now there is no cohesive front- only small pockets of units fighting for survival.[:(]
They struggled with a ferocity that was to be expected of brave men fighting with forlorn hope against an enemy who had the advantage of position......knowing that courage was the one thing that would save them.

A wolverine and a T34 have been sited working in close cooperation, hopefully they will be kitty litter soon enough...

I lose a PzIV in a duel with a flame tank, I forgot it was a flame tank, I'll remember now...

Elsewhere we take out another SU76 and shoot up the crew that bailed from the other one.

In the South we seem to be making our way back to the VH cluster...

MD's rear VHs are under attack this time by cavalry and an armored car it seems a Northern push is about to begin...

our orders also trickle in slowly, some vehicles have been laid up for too long!

No more kitty's

Post by Major Destruction »

I thought you had a tiger because it was firing at me earlier - and missing but this time I found 2 of them.

No more.

Great pilots [:D]

A Sturmovik section armed with rockets and bombs neatly removed two tigers from the map.

Now my T-34 and wolverine can advance safely.

The luftwaffe effort was less than satisfactory, strafing a OT-34 with MG fire and causing no damage.

Artillery continues to fall on both sides. A struggle is now underway for the centre flags and I think the northern flags will be Red soon. The south is very iffy as your cavalry and spec ops units supported by at least one PzIV and a SdKfz 250/9 move in.

i cannot believe both my tigers went down in the same air attack! I think it's made the difference from having a fighting chance to not having much chance at all...

we mow down more infantry, fail to assault the OT34 near the central VH and fail to take out a roving T34 near the south VH cluster... woe woe is me [:(]

That sucks to have two tigers taken out in an airstrike. What was that, like 500 points?

and they were my only 2 Tigers, one of which had been stuck since almost the beginning of the game with C&C On issues...

a real downer for our side [:(]

I wasn't aiming to nail two tigers, I wanted the one I had spotted and the second plane with the bombs was assigned to destroy the A0

So I had to settle for just the two tigers [;)]

At this point in the battle, turn 15 or 12:15pm, 9 out of 13 points per turn flags are German and 7 out of 8 end of game flags are German.

In the North, Soviet forces expect to capture 4 ppt flags in the next turn.
In the Centre, German forces should take control now that my OT-34 has retreated.
In the South, German forces will own the flags at the end of this turn.
The Soviet rear area flags are under contention
The German rear area flags appear secure.

I said, appear secure [;)]

uh oh... that sounds ominous about my rear VH cluster [8|]

we take the south cluster and shoo away some tank riders... wonder where the tank is...

MD's armor are roving at will in the North, this is not good...

Not good that my tanks are roving around the northern ppt cluster?

OK, so we'll advance towards the centre cluster.

Mech infantry arrive at the hill where that nasty 88 is located and give them some hand grenades. German HQ unit is caught out in the open the brown shirts go well with their brown trousers.

In the south a lone SPAA truck chases away a German mech inf unit.
In the Rear, German Spec Ops units are harassed by a halftrack and a bren carrier............more brown trousers.

152's continue their bombardment of German held ground while German artillery and mortars bombard open country.
They struggled with a ferocity that was to be expected of brave men fighting with forlorn hope against an enemy who had the advantage of position......knowing that courage was the one thing that would save them.

I have given into inevitablity and surrendered this one to MD giving him a DV. Unfortunately I'm just not a C&C On player when it comes to pbem and I find it too much of an extra hassle on top of all the other factors when playing a human.

Thanks for game MD, it was enlightening!

Too bad the battle ended prematurely. HellKat didn't get to experience my paratroop drom on his rear flag cluster. And I had one LZ right in his artillery park!

I figured that a paradrop in turn 22 would be late enough that all his reserves would be drawn forward, leaving his rear unguarded. And they would still have time to rally and take the flags before the game ended in turn 30.

i think you'd have rolled over them with your main force, i had 2 88s stuck in C&C chaos but apart from that it would have been open road...

i'm still getting over the double tiger kill [X(]
