Looks like the battle for Wake is about to begin.

I've spotted a few Aks eading due east (new spotting info) and I'm going to see if I can't intercept them in mid ocean. I had to set my TF on Full Speed.

Well, i must say that the last series of turns more than made up for my boo boo's at war's start. By far the most successful gambit I managed to pull off, despite being handicapped by not having a WAR ROOM ala "kid" [;)], was at Hong Kong. Though i stacked the deck pretty thoroughly in my favor, I ended up being as suprised as my historical Japanese counterparts at the speed in which i captured the fortress. The "stacking" consisted of doubling the attacker force (104th Division reinforced the 38th), and sending in 3+ artillery units. The last piece was to utilize the 11th Air fleet to bombard the fortress and disrupt it....the two day deliberate attack was originally intended to reduce fort levels at minimal cost.....we ended up achieving 15:1 odds on day two of the assault and captured the city with only minimal losses and disruption to my units. As a result, the 38th is in top shape and can be quickly re-deployed to other hot spots.

My transports, having already unloaded my SNLF troops were able to avoid "Kid's" ([;)]) Force Z attempt to kill them....the SNLF did suffer a bombardment though and i was worried this might cause my attack to fail, but fortunately it did not and the base fell on schedule.

Better...the weather gods FINALLY deemed to stop teasing me and the returning raider force was subjected to a 43 G3M attack with both battleships reported torpedoed and heavily damaged. Hopefully there will be glug glug sounds in the near future.

Actually managed to pull off my Kuching landing rather smoothly, utilizing heavy ships to counter the CD's that have so punished invasion TF's of the past...so far so good....the 35th Brigade has landed with minimal disruption to the TF and itself. Soon i will have a base from which to project my airpower deeper into the SRA.

Running into Bananarama boy's problem of supply.....i've been spoiled by the small scenerio "Rising Sun" in which Japan's "entry port" (ala UV) gets a certain supply reinforcement daily........I'm hoping i can keep the ball rolling.

Perhaps my biggest sucess is pshycological....actually managing to relax a little and not think that this is PACWAR with weekly turns and i must rush rush before the Allies come roaring back......so far my timetable is reasonably on sched (do i actually "have" a timetable???!!!!)

The Southern PI stratagy has worked to perfection..avoiding the CD units at Davao which should soon be under attack by overland march. Kid's little Marblehead attack threw a small spanner in the works but so far no ships have sunk though i must acknowledge one CS is heavily damaged and wont be available for operations in the near future.

Worst round of bad luck so far was the torpedoing of a battleship by obsolete Vildebeasts.

But i made up for it by sinking the US Pacific Fleet flagship.....go Sixth Fleet!!!!1 [:'(]

Well I saw two invasion TFs heading my way and I had three places to chose from, and I picked the one in the middle. This turn I'm going to try a double whammy. I've set the TF's DH as Aitae and it’s HP as Wewak. So if things go right the TF should move to Aitape and attack and then when it returns to HP attack the ships there.

actually with two day turns, find i dont have to do things all that differently. For fatigue, it really depends on the the levels and the situation. If fatigue is really high and i can afford it i'll set the airgroups on rest or rotate em out.

I know Kid is attempting to slip in daggers here or there counting on my not being able to react in time. Its working in places i must admit but he's being aided by my abject sloppiness in places. If i were playing more like Mogami, every TF would have some kind of escort or another. I'm having the worst luck with the Ryujo right now!
