Retired USMC 1980-2000. Intel Officer/Arabic Linguist Stationed all over of course, but most memorable moments would be Desert Storm 90-91 and Beirut Oct 23, 1983. The time in Beirut haunts me to this day.

The time spent on ships is what got me so interested in naval warfare and the PTO in particular. Although Beirut was a nightmare, I did have the pleasure of being a passenger on the New Jersey when she was there. Nothing quiet like the sound and feel of those 16" guns in action.

Served three month special TDY with Isreali AF back in '82. Was in south Lebanon the day the Isreali's shot down the entire Syrian Air Force in one day. 82-0 that day. Made the Mariana's Turkey Shoot seem like a struggle....

Still in... 22 yrs and counting... Armor officer now working in my secondary area of Engineers with the US Army Corps of Engineers, in Wash DC, as the Chief of Plans, working on future military contingencies. My recent work in OIF, was as the G3 (OPS) officer for Task Force RIO (Restore Iraq Oil)... With less than 45 days to plan and deploy for the saving the Iraqi oil fields, fighting the well fires and getting oil production back up... to help rebuild Iraq [>:]

Worked with a great team of Brits and USMC guys/gals to make it all happen. [&o]
