To answer the question of the "yellow" unit selections, it appears that these are "historically" obsolete, but are still available to purchase. For instance, I started a scenario in the editor (just to play around), US vs GE, 1944. In the US OOB, under armor, I selected Lt Tank Sec. Offered everything from M1917 to M24 Chaffee. But the earlier models (like M1, M2 "Mae West", M3 Stuart, etc.) were all yellow. In 1944, only the Chaffee and the M5 Stuarts were "available". But I could still buy the M1s, anyhow.

Hope this is correct, and answers the question.

It is the Steel Panthers I have always wanted! Through the years I've watched it develop and mature.

This is about as close as it will get. And it's close enough for me! :D
