You only need to re-start if you want to take advantage of the OOB-related fixes. If you are playing a grand campaign from 1.00, you can keep playing. If you started a grand campaign in 1.20, unfortunately I would suggest restarting because of the issues that were fixed with the 1.21 patch.

Is YAMASHITA in the game now?

I don't know, check the change list and certainly check in the game if you have 1.21 installed. I haven't been tracking all the OOB issues/changes personally, but the change list forwarded to us and posted in the 1.20 and 1.21 threads should answer your question.

Thanks Eric , no prob but I think folks may be unclear on that ( playing with 1.20 Grand Campaign should be restarted with 1.21 )

People think 1.21 only effects problems with the small map scenarios.

I really appreciate all the hard work you and the other Matrix people have been at this loooog weekend so we can play this GREAT GAME. Thank You[:)]

We recommend that ALL WitP customers upgrade to 1.21. If you started a game in 1.20, we recommend re-starting it after applying 1.20. Games started in 1.00 should be fine, but will not benefit from 1.20 and 1.21 OOB-related fixes.

I assume you mean "...after applying 1.21". Just the engineer in me [;)]

Thanks for all the great work and patience from you and the rest of the Matrix Games/2by3/beta testers. Some day I'll feel like I know what I'm doing in the grand campaign!

One good thing about these fixes (aside from PATCHING the game, that is [:D] ): by replaying the opening days of WW2 (Scen 15), I'm able to apply all the little oddities I learned along the way "from the start."

I hate to bother everybody with a sad tale, but I tried to register Friday and did not get a password, sent an email to membersarea and did not get a reply. Then later tried to register again and got the message that the login was in use. Tried "forgot password" from a suggestion on the forum, said sent, no email received. Sent another email to membersarea, no reply.

Saturday tried the "forgot password" a couple of times, then, from a suggestion on the forum, sent copies of emails to support.

Sunday night found the link to the ftp and support/download - tried 120 patch download - got 40,000 KB of 122,511 KB into the download, then got and error message - "... could not be saved because source file could not be read."

Tried 2 time more Sunday night with same results and 1 more time this morning.

This forum has gotten the only results so far.

Can anyone suggest anything other than driving to Matrix?

Ol'Dog, I have a 56 dialup and used the stardownloader which was recommended in one of the bug forums re download problems (I think it is at stardownloader.com). They have a free version and someone commentated that it was easier to use than getitright (not sure of right name). It worked flawlwssly in about 5 and a half hours for 1.2.

Thanks a lot

I have half a T-1, but Star Downloader increased my transfer rate approximately 25%. I lost it twice, about 55,000 KB and about 118,000 KB, but Star picked it back up in less than 30 sec each time.

I am still not registered at the members area and haven't heard from anyone at Matrix, but the downloaded patches work fine, at least for 12/7/41 and 12/8/41.

Again - Thanks

I have a polite question, if you don't mind, about the now already known missing 1st MarDiv Sc. 14, I think. That would lead me to think that there may be a subsequent revision - and I have probably missed that somewhere because I am too busy getting arranged with an ongoing battle elsewhere (that's what happens when you miss staff meetings.) Is that the case?

Hi,

We recommend that ALL WitP customers upgrade to 1.21. If you started a game in 1.20, we recommend re-starting it after applying 1.21. Games started in 1.00 should be fine, but will not benefit from 1.20 and 1.21 OOB-related fixes.

There were some issues with the scenario files for smaller scenarios in v1.20 that resulted in airplane replacement rates of 0. We've posted v1.21 as an immediate fix so that you can play the small scenarios again. Thanks for your patience.

This new patch is available via our public FTP, to make it as easy as possible for everyone to retrieve. The FTP server is ftp.matrixgames.com. The direct link is:

ftp://ftp.matrixgames.com/pub/WarInTheP ... h-v121.zip

The downloads page is at:

http://www.matrixgames.com/support/downloads-witp.asp

Please note: This patch requires you to be at the v1.20 level before installing.

1.21 OOB Changes

Scenarios 2, 8, 15 and 16
Removed 23rd Australian Brigade (2591) from Darwin, Replaced with Gull Force Battalion (2591) in Darwin and Lark Force Battalion (2600) and placed in Rabaul (714)

Scenarios 8, 9, 13, 14, 15 and 16
BB Mississippi arriving with wrong class (1214 - October 42) changed to Dec 41 (179) class

All Scenarios
BB Warspite Upgrade class 1406, 20mm ammo in slot 10 set to 0, and weapon could not replenish ammo. Changed to 36

Scenarios 10 and 11
Fixed Warspite class ships Warspite (3174) and Valiant (3175) and Queen Elizabeth (3176) 20mm ammo in slot 10 from 0 to 36

Regards,

- Erik

I am in the process of ordering the game and the CD. Will I have to download the updates and install them or will the CD ship with all patches and upgrades installed?
Thanks for your time.[&:]

So, now that the patch has been out for a little while, are we still pretty sure that saves from an AI game started in 1.00 will still work in 1.21? I haven't upgraded yet because I've been on vacation for the past couple weeks, but now I'm back at my desktop ready to rock. Has anyone had to restart an AI game started in 1.00?
