Isn't it actually more important that they kill all the bugs than the patch being released by any particular date? I've waited 20 years to play this game, a few more days certainly isn't going to make any difference to me.

What sort of magic would you suggest they use to get the patch out instantly? Or are you willing to risk fatal bugs? Considering the amount of time involved in a campaign, that sounds like a bad idea to me.

Actually the arguement that there are fatal bugs or that they have to "rush" anything is disenginious. The posters on this board have already posted that the delay is that they are adding some more bugs to the list of bugs to be done on this particular patch.

Depending on what bugs they are adding, this might be worth waiting for. I would hope the leader bugs is fixed, as it is annoying and bothersome to lose your good leaders with no way to recover them. The Allies only have a couple Carrier Admirals at the beginning and only 2 Admirals rated at Invasion capable. I have already lost one of the Invasion admirals. It is just a matter of time before I lose carrier Admirals.

There have been a large number of major bugs added recently to the "get fixed" list. No point putting out a patch knowing they are there and starting down the "should I restart my game?" path all over again.

Just based on how differently the game plays, most of you will want to restart to have all the changes in play right from Dec 7th, 1941. The Bombardment TF changes make such a large difference that most turn 1 landings will be delayed just to make use of your now "very" effective BB's. Naval Surface Combat plays completely differently now. The AI doesn't leave ships in forward ports for you to pick off with air attacks. Ground Combat is a completely different beast with Zones of Control telling you exactly how things will shake out. The list goes on and on.

Things are moving forward ... bide your time ... it will be well worth the wait.

It also gives Frag a perfect excuse to continue cowering in a corner avoiding Strategist-Ultra, otherwise known as ME.

You mean that BB`s will no longer be wrecked by 5" CD Guns ?....that`s worth any delay itself [:D]

Thank-you very much for the update. Are new bugs still being added to the list, or are the bugs you've found currently being squashed, or is the patch in playtest mode? I'm curious if we're looking at hours, days, or weeks for the patch release. Then I can stop checking the forum five times a day. [:)]

Don't be silly - if you don't check the forum 5 times a day how are you going to know how the 'Bash the Mods' is going... [;)]

Little late for me, old boy. I'm in February '43, and I'm not about to start over. I'm playing the Allies against Japanese AI, and I'm just about to recapture Los Angeles. (Har! [;)])

Can I assume that nothing will prevent me from continuing play on my game after 1.3 is loaded? Will OOB and reinforement changes in 1.3 goof up the current game?

I have had a few issues with some of the saves sent my way. I would advise that you keep a copy of your current 1.21 installation when you patch just in case that you can't go forward with the patch.

Having a copy means you can continue to run your current game in the copy's directory if the update makes it go poof!
