SPWaW is a tactical squad-level World War II game on single platoon or up to an entire battalion through Europe and the Pacific (1939 to 1945).

I'd be interested in knowing more about this myself. I don't feel like trying to wrestle a dos game into Windows XP.

What we do not want to do is get engaged in a dogfight over this. Let's have fun gaming!

From Andy Gailey and Don Goodbrand

"We'd like to announce that there will not be any further work done on the DOS based SPWW2 or SPMBT games but that the next versions of both games will be fully windows based. WinSPMBT is scheduled to release in the Spring 2005 and WinSPWW2 will be released later in 2005. There will be many additions to both games including new terrain and game systems plus the ability to play the game in full screen or windowed mode in all screen resolutions from 640x480 up to1600x1200. An added "zoom in" level has been built into the game for resolutions above 640x480. More details will be announced in the future. "

http://linetap.com/www/drg/SPCamo.htm

That's a good starting point WB, as there will likely be a link to it there when the time is right.

It also currently resides here: http://www.shrapnelgames.com/SPCamo/index.htm for the downloads themselves.

Well since I use all 3 games and accept the differences.
My only BIG comment on this is MAKE SURE IT RUNS ON SERVER 2003 not just XP or is that HexedP.
Actually that would aply to all 3 games.
Interesting note SPWAW ran on Server 2000 but does not work on Server 2003.
I need to do something at work!

[8|]I just checked the SP Camo site and the release date has been changed to: released during the Spring. This refers to the SPMBT info. Oh well, its not like we've never waited before!

There are some possible options from what I can see.
The best could be to buy $$$ Virtual PC by MS. You would need the Virtual PC for teh PC. the cost depends if you have a legal OS to go with this or not. If you need a legal one the $$ goes upwards.
I am looking at Bochs for windows. This seems to come with a "linux" OS. It should be possible to get it running with Win 95/2000 but I have not checked the docs yet. Other wise run it with its orig OS and then refer to :
http://www.spwaw.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=2641
to run the game. Seems to be a bit of a mess.

Anyway just some options. find teh $$ first it could be the easiest. I just can not prove a need for that type of software else I would have it purchased ina flash.

Hope it helps.

If you get this to work before me let me know.

I asked that over in the SPMBT Yahoo Group, didn't really get a clear answer as to whether it would or not [:@]
Soldiers generally win battles; generals get credit for them.
