How about port limitations??? Ops points per port so that 1000 ships can't be serviced in a day, limiting rearming Naval TFs like torps and mines making large calibre naval shells unavailable at Bubba Gump's Shrimp Shack, that sort of thing? While aircraft upgrade paths and stuff are great to improve, these can be MANIPULTED with the EDITOR. Why expend Mike's time and effort on things which we can change when things we can't affect like operations limits for ports, a streamlined interface for naval ops (organize ships into divisions for ease of handling as opposed to the single ship approach we have now), a larger naval formation (Task Group) which will allow more efficent usage of naval TFs, improved land and naval combat etc are left as is?

Thought didn't pan out.

But I was able to confirm that the ship in question (AK Columbian) had been under the command of a Japanese carrier captain while in another TF for at least five days prior to becoming the senior officer in a new TF.

Everyone go to ComSubPac or Malaya Army HQ (any high HQ) and check for alternate leader availability. 2 months into the game I have Flight Lieutenants and such mixed in with the big brass. Can this have any importance seeing as it further illustrates the complete lack of any restriction for leader bug. Nationality, rank, nothing seems to have any sort of impact...it's just one big bowl of Bit's and Bites.

Thanks for all your work on the new paych and the new ideas that you have.

If a game was started with 1.4, will the players be able to use the new upgrade pathways with their existing game or will thay have to restart to get the benefit?

Thanks again

RE: Aircraft Upgrade have changed

Has there been any change to Japanese Aircraft production, to keep older types in production?

I see the "wrong" leader immediately upon completeing ship selection, the very first time the TF details screen appears, before even moving on to the next thing I'm doing. Long before end of orders and turn execution.

That is *useful* information. It at least gives us somewhere to focus our efforts. I've been looking for flips during turn execution, not immediate stuff.

I would expect a restart will be required to have this kick in as it will be locked in PBEM games just like any other Reality Option but I'm not positive yet. Non-PBEM games should be able to toggle.

Have hope. I have not given up on it yet. We will just have to be patient a little longer.

Unfortunately, in checking previous turn saves it became clear that the AK Columbian, the latest ship to be affected in my game that I've seen, had been commanded by a Japanese officer for at least five days/turns prior. So in this case it was NOT something in the TF creation routine. Sorry. [:(]

Kid,

Is it possible to add a command line parameter like -repeatrandoms, to force the random events to repeat after you press "End Turn"? My suggestion would be "End Turn" to force some seed to the random number generator.

My point with that is that any bug that depends on a random number will never repeat, so the mythical repeatable save for not only the leader bug but any other bugs will never be achieved if we let the random numbers go loose.

This parameter would be around only on a temporary basis, and it can just be removed on a future version.

F.

PS: or, better yet, force the seed to be the turn number, so that even if the numbers repeat for the same turn, they will be different on different turns (so to not destroy playability completely).
I'm running out of jokes...

Good luck getting them more than 1-2 months early.

All this does is eliminate having 2/3 of the IJA air force stuck in Oscar II's if and when you have alot of better a/c for them.

Since it's going to allow better aircraft to front line units faster, the Zero Bonus needs to be dropped from the game.

It's a nice theory but it won't really do this; you still have to build the planes. Yeah, there might a Daitai or two of Nates flip to Oscar I's every month, but this is no revolution.

Well yeah, it does do that. This is the primary effect in fact. But this kicks in long after the A6M bonus is just a memory....
Please try and get a save of the disappearing units to one of us.

I've got one; who wants it?

well if i can equip most of my army air units with tojo's instead of oscarII's im very happy. tojo's arrive in 8-42 so it is a possibility.

or if i can get rid of my short range pete's and get a standard floatplane for the entire surface navy...jake's?

or getting rid of all those pesky Lily´s the only thing i use em for is ASW search they are too vulnerable for attacks..enough sallies around. they carry only 3 guns and bombload is too small

This is great guys! And since I believe I read that this applies to Allies aswell, does this mean we can toggle our Lethernecks to Corsairs, and have custom paths for the Allies as well?
