You hve checked you preferences after patching? It zaps the setting back to the default 2 seconds/1 second messaging.

I have changed settings,turned off screen info,sound off,ect.ect.

If I hit the esc key it will scream but I am unable to see the intell info.


I like the eye candy and graphics so I think this may be the norm speed for the game.


Oh well, it may take a while but at least I can play with no ctd as of yet.

Hit the "Z" key during the execution phase. Drops all the delays to .1 and makes the phase run faster.

My P4 with 1GB RAM takes about 15 minutes to do a turn with everything turned off. 5 Minutes of this is "Training ships crews".

I read the results after the turn.
