As I tend to point out to people, this game is cheaper then the Sims or SimCity. Just because it costs more then a silly FPS like HL2 which takes 40 hours to finish really doesn't mean much. Anyone finished WitP yet? [:D]

I can't seem to get past the first few months of game time before something comes up, and I decide to restart the game. (not bugs, talking about change of strategy/patch/forgot what I was doing)
At least I have had a go at almost every scenario[:D].

This game is well worth the cash! I have never played a game this amount since the early SSI days. Don't look at the price, think of the money it saves you because you won't need to go out and buy other games which will end up on a shelf or in a box after a few sessions. This puppy has staying power and the devs are always adding a few things here, tweaking something there and fixing any problems which may come up. And for a game this size, it is rather trouble free. Then add all the work the forum community does and man...you are getting a very cost effective return on your money.

Hey, Ron, you're suppose to attack WITP on this forum (at least one people call complaining "doing a Saueracker's").

I agree 100% with you. WITP is the best wargame I have ever seen. It even managed to make me get up earlier so I can do PBEM turns before going to work.

But the fact that it is the better doesn't mean it can be better on several points. And we complain only because people her us (other players but also people doing patches). Thanks again to people who made this game

I agree ..
Witp is cheaper for what it is and for the pleasure we'll have for years ..

But if the price could be dropped .. I won't say "don't do it" .. [;)]

For me it costed 92 euros .. so, there is an opportunity cost in here .. but I bought that game and If I could come back to the past, I won't change my choice .. [:)]

I enjoy so much .. thanks GG and others [&o][&o][&o]

Just one thing : if they could sale their games without bugs ... [:'(] ..
we need so much patches ... [:(] .. ( and what about the leader bug ?
[:D][:D] I heard someone saying " If I hear one more time stg about the leader bug, I'll ... ( Censured) " .. [:D] .. just a joke .. [8|] ..

Mr.Frag said :

"If I hear once more leader bug, I'm going to snap ... about 7 separate and unique leader bugs have already been fixed and there are still more being hunted. (another one just this morning from Michael)

I can see it now ... "thats all you fixed? leader bug and this other stuff? What where you doing, sleeping?"

I don't normally get into the nitty gritty of what will and will not get fixed because there is always something that you say is fixed and turns out to not be fixed as it is a new variation of what did get fixed.

As to Ohka's, what was your beef with them, stuff has been done in that area, but it might not be what *you* wanted done so I can't say fixed

Save game ... machine & operating system dependant, learn some self control and give it a 5 count. I have yet to hear *anyone* say that this did not fix them.

Nightfighter has been fixed twice ... does that mean it's fixed?

Bases ... thats open to intepretation too.

One of the things you learn with bugs, just because you fixed one doesn't mean there isn't another right beside it doing the same thing."

Sorry Harrer I have a win 98 machine and I have crashed on save even after hitting save walking away from computer and coming back after dinner. Sadly for your fix it takes me more than 5 seconds to eat [:)]

It doesn't happen often so I don't really care. I would much rather see aircraft repair rates the same for full size and broken down units than a fix to crash after save and that one is coming so I am happy.

Come, on people, can any one tell me this game is worth the price!!!! How can you explain a 70 dollar (90 for a poor canadian like me) price tag for a game. Until there is a price drop im just going to complain and complain and complain........[:@].

You obviously don't know what you are talking about [;)]
I used to 'consume' a game per month.
Since WitP came out I bougth two more games and I haven't even played them yet, I dedicate all my spare time to WitP.

If they asked me to pay for patches ... I would, and happily so.

Best game ever and I've purchased over a hundred in the last years!
Of course if you are a 'C&C' player I guess you'll be disappointed [:D]

<Smug mode>I just have to love the currency exchange rates [:)]</Smug mode>

The price was high enough for me to think about it, but not high enough to put me off...and it's an investment I'm glad I made. I've spent more on a night out, for crying out loud!

You might consider that it will take you thousands of hours to play from 12 7 41 to anytime in 1945 at 1 turn per day... so is the money the problem? if you play it, this game probably is the LEAST expensive per time spent, maybe you should ask a different ? other than can I afford it, as in ; " can I afford the time?"

Why on earth would people buy an over-priced Volvo over a less expensive Hyundai? They're just cars ... right?! As you can see from the responses, the perceived value that folks have for the game is significantly more than the price. If you're interested in military history, enjoy planning and managing operational-level warfare, and can devote months to playing the game, then the value far exceeds the price. However, if you prefer games that don't meet all criteria above, then the price far exceeds the value.

Few things are harder to put up with than the annoyance of a good example. -- Pudd'nhead Wilson

WiTP is so deep (and I don't mean the Marianas Trench!) that I doubt that it can ever be completely mastered... there will always be a new tactic or strategic vision that someone can exploit. Anyone who reads the forums cannot help but be impressed with the detail (and yes the griping and nit-picking that goes on) in this game. You could write a small book just on invasion tactics! Every time I come here there is another interesting thread raising new ideas.

It is the best $70 ever spent if you are at all interested in wargaming. [&o]

The digital download is about the same price as alot of boxed games in the stored in Australia.

I paid $120.00 for pacwar when it was released. I kept playing it for years. I will keep playing WiTP for years. In terms of value for money it is a good price for a pices of software that was a number of years in development.

Some games I have paid $80-$100 only spent 1 month if that on my hard drive.
