USS Laffey, it is[:)]

USS Juneau, it is[:)]

..........................

On Board the USS Laffey are indead survivors from the USS Wasp. Though hard to be certain given the distance, it looks as thought the USS Juneau is as well.

Compare Laffey's weapon outfit visible to the OOB. The OOB in this game rocks.

I had it in mind that it was from before Fri the 13th. Wasn't there a problem with rescue operations after that fight? I recall Juneau's survivors being left to fend for themselves. Just on that basis, I tend to think in terms of Savo.

I think a few survivors were rescued, but not immediately. The surviving ships skedaddled, not wanting to risk another attack.

Correct - after the 13 Friday fight. Juneau did not fight at the 1st Battle of Savo.

There was a huge explosion when the torpedoes hit, and everyone "knew" there could not be any survivors. They did not even radio the report of the sinking, iirc, since they did not want to reveal their position to the enemy. This ignores the fact that the enemy ALREADY knew, since they had just torpedoed Juneau. Folks on the Allied side did not seem to be thinking too well that day.
