SH3 goes gold is it just me

Any details on the dynamic campaign? If its as good or better then AOD then I have to buy. Otherwise I'm not interested. I've been watching but have yet to see a screenshot of anything to do with the dynamic campaign.

Just a hunch here moses, but I have the feeing that it's better. As I mentioned earlier I know you can buy crewman, crewman which have their own individual ratingss for stamina and such, something AoD didn't have. Also, you can mark spots on your map to indicate whatever you wish with it. I haven't got into it myself yet, but those are two little indicators that they didn't slight the campaign. The campaign ought to be interesting if nothing else for the additional nuance that you can award your crewmen and see their ratings go up with time. I think you can individually mount any gun you please too, or of course have a crewman do it (you can even tell the gunner which part of the ship you want him to aim for).

A few more days and we will have a better picture.

I'm not really much into actually shooting the guns . I'm not that kind of player. Don't play flight sims or similar games and have no hand-eye coordination. (No offense to those who enjoy these type of games) The campaign is everything. Played AOD to death though and have wasted quite a few hours trying to get it to work again on my newer computers (w/o success).

I can't wait a few days I want it now!!! No impulse control today. But if the campaign was just thrown together at the last minute I'll be unhappy. [:)]

Yeah, I don't know how wild I will get into it, but I even saw that on those maps you can use compasses, stencils, and the like (even an erasure).

After one of my first patrols.. picking up straglers and no convoys.. I gave out one Iron cross, several naval sub pins and a couple of other awards.. and one promotion that I couldn't find any crew to recieve.. both myself as captain and crew all get the equivelent of prestiege points.. what are they called? ah "Reknown" you pay for everything with this.. I do'nt get into that aspect as much as the hunt , but it is cool and a good way to reward players who start in the early years.. assuming they and their crew stay alive ..ALARM[X(]
I do like playing in German with the English text...

Should be fine. I have an Athlon XP 2200+ (about 1.8 GHz, I think) and a GeForce 4 Ti4600, 512 meg DDR and SH3 runs smooth as silk. Long loading times, but I suspect more RAM would cure that. You are well above the "minimums", and meet the "recommendeds" except for RAM.

SH3 is a brilliant game, no doubt about it. Its not a 100% one, as it does have a few minor annoyances (not least the first tutorial which had me screaming in frustration), and there seem to be some particular "issues" (i.e bugs) with some hardware. The first patch is already out which is good in one way, bad in another. Thoroughly recommended, but I would suggest checking the official boards for anything likely to affect your system before buying. Its one of those where updating all your drivers before you start is an even smarter move than usual, too.

my system works fine and you are much faster.. I am running a p4 1.4 with 512.. and a ati 9600xt with 128.. turning all off and discoing from the internet while playing just in case

playes well... looks good.. not perfect but a real winner is the dynamic campiegns...

My main mode of entertainment was playing WITP hoping to catch a few improvements to my game, realizing all the while with something of a dread that I would start all over with the patch. Now SHIII will be played a great deal, therefore relieving some of the uselessness of playing pre-v1.5 WITP. I bought mine from a Gamestop. [X(] What you have to do is use your binoculars "b" and mark the planes as a target "space", they won't fire by themselves...maybe they'll change it but that's the way it is for now[:)]

As I described earlier, my flak man did very well and damaged the aircraft enough to where it turned back. I was playing a scenario, so maybe my gunner had more experience than yours.

In my case the flaj gunner fired and damaged it, as i said, but I knew nothing of telling them what the target was, though I did look at the plane through the binoculars. Maybe I marked it by accident?

[8D]Not since War In The Pacific have i been so mesmerized and immersed with a PC game. I have spent over a day just with the tutorials, not because it's complicated, trying to get the confidence for the dynamic campaign. The graphics, water and explosions, are better than anything i have seen to date on my Alienware rig[&o].
Well, gotta go, i'll go to periscope depth when Gary Grigsby's Word At War shows up on my sonar sooner...or ...later[:D].
