Will like Lilly now be upgradable?

I do miss that original Dos version allowed upgrades within same type (level bombers were interchangable (Sally,Lilly,Mary)

Do aircraft factories still auto-upgrade to new types?

Hello...

Yes, they do. Considered changing that, but in the end, left it as it is.

please do not get me wrong. i have played this game alot as well as UV. it is just that several times I have gotten to june, july, august timeframe on the campaine game and a new patch came out...

I am def not trying to rush the patch and def want matrix/2by3 to take their time and feel good about it (would have said "feel comfortable about it" but was not sure how to spell comfortable) (oh)

i am happy with the way the game was released and as it is in 1.5. i think they did a outstanding job with a game this size. look at some of the other games this size(all 2 or 3) and you can see how good they did. All i am saying is if the patch is out with in a few weeks i will wait because i will not restart again.

Spend your time looking at Japan's production so you can start planning just how you will change things around for variable aircraft production. That will keep you busy for at least a month. [;)]

Boy what a gift to the JFBC ( Japanese Fan Boy Club ) ...

In the original we could forgive no "gear up" costs for changing planes at a factory ... because the change was in essence "hard coded" ... we knew Nates would upgrade to OscarII ... and so maybe the guys at the factory did also ... and so maybe they were gearing up the factory behind our backs ... with some extra non-existent resources ... but at least they knew exactly which factories to upgrade !!!

Now I can make a snap decision ... and convert any factory [ within type ] in zero nanoseconds ... with zero resource cost ... whew ... I guess the reason the JFBC aren't cheering is they know what a gift this is and they don't want to risk it being taken away !!!

My father spent the first half of WWII in the airplane industry ( he worked for Sperry Rand ... he was involved in "testing" the infamous Norden Bomb Site ) ... but anyway ... we built "upgrade centers" at least for the 4E bomber types ... to AVOID having to pay the "gear up" cost to change types ... so for example if factory X was producing B17F we would build a B17G "upgrade center" ... keep producing the Fs and when they were done ... fly them to the upgrade center and convert them in Gs ...

So I'm ok with the Japanese not paying gearing costs IF they first build the upgrade centers !!!

But to get automatic free, unplanned upgrades .... is going too far IMHO ... anyway this new feature could be made into a toggle instead of being hardcoded default ?

( thanks for the warning Mike ! )

Hornblower: My understanding is that your game will still work with 1.5. You'll get the advantage of bug fixes, but not of changes to the order of battle; for the latter, you must restart. And there will be some significant OOB changes in this patch. Also, my impression is that you won't be able to use the player-selected upgrades without restarting, but I could be wrong.

KPAX: No patch notes are out yet. :)

So what happens when we want to produce some more say Am2's after the AM5 comes. Also what happens we start to lose planes due to the ghost of the machine and want to produce ealier versions.
