FALL 1941:
MOSCOW: The German Archangel Expeditionary Force is no more. This pocket of vile Nazi warmongers has been annihilated, but not before raping and ravaging their way across a broad swath of territory, destroying precious mines as they went. Meanwhile, on the main front, the Invaders have been stopped "cold" by the Soviet Army. Both Leningrad and Kharkov remain in Russian hands.
SINKIANG: The unbelievable has happened; Chungking has fallen to the Japanese aggressors. But not to worry, our Leader is sure the communists forces stationed in Lanchow will repel the invader.
LONDON: Victory at Sea!
The Howler Monkeys have earned their ration of rum and bananas as this Fall 1 enemy sub was damaged and 2 destroyed at a cost of only 2 light fleets damaged. Otherwise, all is quiet on the Western Front.

WINTER 1942 to SUMMER 1942
Sorry for the lack of reporting guys. Both Mike and I have been busy. A brief Summary is that the Western front has been very quiet over the past 3 turns. I think I am slowly winning the UBoat War but Mike might have other ideas. In Russia I was very pleased with my Winter 42 offensive as I managed to damage or destroy a lot of Mike's units (sorry no screenshots). Even better Mike really never launched much of an Offensive with his Germans in the Spring or Summer. I managed to hold both Leningrad and Kharkov and now the tide is starting to turn, at least I hope it is.
Japan managed to conquer all of China except Sinkiang whose factory is ruined. I could move supply in from Russia to fix the factory, but I have better uses for the supply. In Summer 1942 Japan attacked the Russian Far East. I had moved all my forces there to confront the Germans, so he was essentially unopposed. Of course since Japan had already gone inland in China this brought the US into the War. Perhaps surprisingly Mike did not attempt a Pearl Harbour attack. Guess he figured it wasn't worth the supply.
It will be interesting to see how well Mike defends and how well I can now attack. Generally I like to think I am better at defence than attack; but we shall see. A couple Charts and Maps from the start of the Russian turn follow.
1st the Unit Chart. Note that I finally have more Russian tanks than German, we both have lots of artillery,he is down to 3 German subs and I have 4 hvy bombers on the way. I only wish had started construction of another carrier and more CAG.

RE: Harrybanana vs Mike Mcmann
FALL 42
MOSCOW: Despite losing the far east to the Japanese the war continues to go well. The Japanese advance has been halted (though not yet reversed), while in the West 2 German armor were surrounded and destroyed and Soviet armor penetrated all the way to West Poland.
SINKIANG: Here we sit probably for the rest of the war, with no factories to build new units or supply to repair the factory. If only the Russians would give us some supply we would all turn communists.
LONDON: A Large victory was earned by our CAGS and bombers against the Italian Fleet in the West Med, with many Italian Ships sunk or damaged. Indian forces in Singapore and Sumatra dug in for a Japanese counter attack that never materialized. Geez, I wonder what the Japanese are doing.
WASHINGTON: JAPANESE INVADE! Yes its true, sneaking in, we believe, from off the coast of Siberia several Japanese BBs protected a convoy of 7 transports carrying troops that invaded and captured Alaska, Western Canada, and SW US. The loss of SW US was especially damaging as all 5 carriers stationed there were surrounded and destroyed. I guess with Mike I should by now be prepared to expect the unexpected, but once again I was caught with my pants down. However, WA forces reponded quickly. After destroying Axis shipping in the West Med 3 carriers were dispatched to the Pananma Canal where they were joined by a couple BBs and cruisers. Meanwhile the Carribean fleet of 2 Light Fleets attacked the Japanese light fleet stationed South of Hawaii which had been isolated by the Japanese. While no damage was done to either side the WA gained control of this important Sea area allowing transports and supplies to reach the Pacific Fleet at Pearl. The BBs at Pearl immediately launched an attack on the Japanese Hvies stationed off San Diego. Each side lost 3 Hvies dmged or destroyed. The WA can aford these losses, the Japanese can't. Meanwhile the light fleets at Pearl attacked and destroyed several Japanese Transports supplying their forces in California. British units were deployed to the US to bolster the few units stationed there. To prevent any further Japanese expansion in continental US several miltia units were built.
Although, the loss of SW US was huge, the one upside is that Mike expended a huge amount of supply and transports on this venture. This means that he could not repair the resources in SE Asia or Dutch East Indies.

Here is a look at the situation in Europe as at the end of the Fall 43 turn. I would show you the situation in the US, but parts of it are such an ugly colour. If Mike ever gets caught up with his AAR you can look there.

My guess is that the picture never uploaded to the matrix site, even though it thought it did. That would explain the nice X in place of the picture.
By the way nice job with the Soviets.[:)]
See this is why you need to leave troops on all coastal areas the japanese can reach.[:-] Germans too for that matter, one para and you are in real trouble as no invasion would be neccessary.

RE: Harrybanana vs Mike Mcmann
WINTER 1943
MOSCOW: A single militia unit recaptured a Siberia abandoned by the Japanese. On the Western Front winter was a time of consolidation. Rumania and Hungary were liberated but the armor in West Poland was withdrawn to East Poland, rail lines and resource centers were repaired and rear area units units were moved to the front. Russian production is now almost equal to German production. The Spring will see the offensive renewed.
LONDON: A combined air and naval assault in the West Med has finally caused the Italian navy (or most of it anyway) to retreat to neutral Marseille where they join the rest of the Italian fleet which has been hiding there since 1940. Italy is now open for conquest, but then so is France.
WASHINTON: "Remember San Diego" the American Navy has had it's revenge in the Pacific. A combined force of 3 CVs, 2BBs, and 4 light ships has sunk or damaged every single Japanese CV and BB, along with a few more Transports (including 1 trannie sitting off Pearl with 2 Inf aboard). Meanwhile SouthWest US and Western Canada were liberated after being abandoned by the Japanese.

The Units as of just before WA production W43. Note the Russian tanks outnumber German tanks by roughly 2 to 1, and the number of Japanese CVs and Heavies.

RE: Harrybanana vs Mike Mcmann
Of course whenever I get over confident like this Mike does something diabolical. I want to say as well that with a couple exceptions (most notably when his subs destroyed my fleet off Gibraltar early in the game without taking a scratch) I have generally outlucked Mike in this game. For instance a couple turns ago he attacked Leningrad and my fleets retreated to the Baltic (which they are only suppose to do if there is a real risk of the area being captured), but he lost heavily in the attack. This seems to have happened consistently throughout the game.
