Production Development

Crown of Glory: Europe in the Age of Napoleon, the player controls one of the crowned potentates of Europe in the Napoleonic Era, wielding authority over his nation's military strategy, economic development, diplomatic relations, and social organization. It is a very thorough simulation of the entire Napoleonic Era - spanning from 1799 to 1820, from the dockyards in Lisbon to the frozen wastes of Holy Mother Russia.

Hi, Feb 1794 "All of Europe is alarmed by the rise of France"
"who me" I've never left France.
All provinces have always had a development in progress
The French Army is now 600,000 troops.
France is in 1st place
France has the most cash
Against the AI France is much more boring then Sweden.

Test of Spain

Post by mogami »

Hi, Decided to have a look at Spain. 1792 15years highest glory.
The Spanish are not that bad off. One advantage over France is they are not at war.
Because of Protecterate in Italy (Kingdom of Naples) I sent one of my two starting Army HQ there (with 1 inf and 1 cav)
Created a 3rd HQ for border with France and kept one to defend Madrid.
June 1792 Income 36 Training Level 2.92 Army Size 264,400
June 1793 Income 85 Training Level 3.32 Army Size 294,680
June 1794 Income 57 Training Level 4.13 Army Size 375,680
June 1795 Income 36 Training Level 5.24 Army Size 426,680
June 1796 Income 16 Training Level 6.80 Army Size 574,296

Currently in 2nd place just had first wars start (no battles fought yet)
I have been paying to import material so I can use my population for development. Now I can stop importing and start producing at home. This should bring my income back up. Also I will set up a few trade routes to produce income (export my surplus)
Swedish pirates have been robbing me so I need to send the fleet to put an end to that.
Overall I would say that with 4 years of peace Spain can do quite nicely. I have alliances with both Britain (to protect my merchants and trade) and Russia (to keep Austria and Turkey off my back)
Feudal level 0
The army has been maintained at 100 percent readiness training for draft 18 months.

Spain 1797

Post by mogami »

Hi, I made a discovery. My population morale made a sharp fall. I had expected it somewhat from doing away with the last level of feudalism but it was more then I expected.
Remember when I said I was importing rather then producing so I could use my population to develop? Well I discovered what many of you might already know. Each trade you cancel costs -30 morale [X(] I canceled quite a few trade routes all at once.
It will recover and now that I am aware of the effect I can work around it in the future.

June 1797 Income 57 Training Level 10.3 Army Size 627,408

Training Levels World Wide
Sweden 10.5
Spain 10.3
Prussia 9.74
France 9.4
Britain 8.27 (Ally so I know Army size 583,000)
Austria 6.54
Russia 6.5 (Ally so I know Army Size 657,758)
Turkey 3.88

The Papal States chose Prussia as protecter rather then me. Then Prussia declared war on Spain so I now own Rome and am going to take the other area. I occupied Bordeux and have moved on to Guyenne. So far no battles. Piedmont got the drift and came over to me as a result I will own Italy up to Switzerland.

Spain appears like it would be fun to play online provided you could stay out of other Nations Wars for 4 or 5 years.
