This wouldn't be members of the US/Canadian Devils Brigade or the American/Canadian 1st Special Service Force, or are they the same unit?

That's not it; the crossbar on Brady's picture goes all the way across. And AFAIK, the Devil's Brigade and the 1st SSF were the same thing. But weren't their first action Dragoon? The few survivors of Darby's Rangers were incorporated into the brigade.

Disregard last; I just looked it up, and the Devil's Brigade DID fight in Italy.

Yes, I read about some of their ordeals in Italy.

Nah, it's just his helmet cover that's a bit oversized, I think. Unless you're thinking he might be a Canuck?

I had been in Sicily about a dozen times when I was in the service, late 60's to mid 70's Augusta Bay and that area and that what it looks like.

In some areas right out of the Med. it was arid to semi arid and then it got greener and mountainous, Beautiful.

So Sicily would also be my guess.
