what would you change?

SPWaW is a tactical squad-level World War II game on single platoon or up to an entire battalion through Europe and the Pacific (1939 to 1945).

One thing that just does not work is the pack mule classed MG units.

Leaving german names stuff for educational purposes would be in order, but I also understand that the english stuff is more accessible for the majority of players. Personally I´m so used to english terms in wargames that I get rather confused when I see german ones.

If it comes to out of the ordinary changes, I would support increasing infantry carrying capacity of all tanks (including some Stugs and Jagdpanzers) to at least standard squad size of 10 (depends upon nationality). I´ve seen pics with Pz-III or Stugs, Panthers loaded with upto 15 grunts outside. It´s both realistic and adds to playabilty.

Beside all that I would be very careful changing Panzer Leo´s H2H mod. There´s lots of fine tuning and small but meaningful edits that can be ruined easily!;)

Note: Don´t get confused with what you see in the game and in the editor. Panzer Leo hacked the game (mech) exe in a way that class names look different! The true unit classes can be seen in the editor only.

Other hacks he made was changing the country rating tables, some of the ingame messages were replaced with blanks so particular info is not shown in the game (casualties) and last but not least the Icon lookup table to support his changed icon shape files.

I liked how elite status was stripped from motorcycles, cavalry, and AFV's in the multi mod so i play this version quite a lot, I would also change this in H2H. Cavalry and MC's strangely dominate troops in older versions while AFV's can go anywhere with few (if any) penalties and spin on a hex in WAW, these units don't warrant any experience advantage IMO. I think Alby made some big improvements there (Cheers [:D])
