This game moves at a pace that makes a few turns a week acceptable to some people. More important than the number of turns is knowing if the other guy has the turn and when it is coming back. What people really hate is when their opponent dissapears.

multi day turns can help too. I always play 2-day turns for PBEM because my schedule makes me lucky to get in 1 turn a day per game. This way, i can get into the heart of campaign without taking a year out of my life to do it.
