RE: Real Life Pilots For Inclusion
Hard Sarge,
Here’s a list of pilots who were with 540 Sqn as of 17Aug43 (I seem to remember the last list I sent you was a bit light on 540 Sqn pilots), ranks are accurate for that date as are awards. The suggested experience range is based on their careers where that info is known. Full names are given where known
540 Sqn
F/O Baird, S.I. – Exp 65-69
W/C (C/O) Douglas-Hamilton, Lord Malcolm A.; OBE – Exp 75-85
F/O Farlow, ??? – Exp 60-65
F/L Graham, ??? – Exp 65-69
F/L Hollick, ??? – Exp 65-69
S/L (Flt Cdr) Hood, Michael Douglas Sutcliffe; DFC – Exp 85-95
F/O Hosking, R.A. – Exp 65-69
S/L (Flt Cdr) Hughes, Gordon E.; DFC – Exp 85-95
F/O Hugo, P.J. – Exp 70-75
F/L Lenton, Reginald A.; MC – Exp 80-89
F/L Morgan, W.J. Guy; DFM – Exp 90-99
F/S Peek, E.P.H. – Exp 65-69
F/O Slonski, Marek – Exp 60-65
Sgt Thomas, P.D. – Exp 65-69
P/O White, W.J. – Exp 70-75
I can’t stress enough how experienced some of these guys were (as were many others in 106 (PR) Wg), many having flown PR since the early PRU days with many also having served as PR instructors at Dyce (8 OTU)

Hard Sarge,
Just had a look at the 540 Sqn pilots already included and there are 3 double entries: Reggie Lenton, Malcolm Douglas-Hamilton and an R. Shannon (I've no record of any Shannon with 106 Wg during this period)

Doubles are
F/L R.A. Lenton (remove) and F/L Reginald A. Lenton (correct)
Sgt R. Shannon x2 (remove both)
W/C Lrd Malcom-Hamilton and W/C Douglas Hamilton (should be Lord Malcolm A. Douglas-Hamilton though I know you only have limited room)

odd, I do not have a R Shannon in the list, let alone a double ? wonder if it is from another squadron and being sent to the wrong place ?

please recheck, and see if you still get that Shannon, I do not see or find him, so he may be a game add in

Sgt R. Shannon is listed twice with 540 Sqn. I've completely exited the game 4 times and they are there every time.
I've just noticed there is no space between the R. and Shannon - R.Shannon. Don't know if that effects the way the editor reads the name.

Sorry, I do not find him in my game or my lists, so maybe I corrected him earlier ?

No Space == generated names. The game keeps a count of surname use to allow some balancing, but not initial or within units, so it's just coincidence...

RE: Real Life Pilots For Inclusion
yea but a odd one to be getting doubles 4 times in a row in the same squadron ?
which, it could of been a bad name (easy to miss the space when inputting) but I not finding it
so do not think it is a data side thing

RE: Real Life Pilots For Inclusion
It's too much of a coincidence to be random. I started the game up again this morning and there are two Sgt R.Shannon's there again.

Roger and I agree, the odds are totally against it
this is what I have for 540 (before the corrections and add ins)
I do not find a R. Shannon, or R.Shannon any where in the data base
(I can check by squadron, by name, by nation)

RE: Real Life Pilots For Inclusion
Here are the pilots serving with 2 Sqn as of 17Aug43 (it consisted of 3 Flights, hence the high number of pilots). Note they are all officers - no NCO pilots (this seems to be standard on all TacR Sqns during this period). I haven't such detailed info on these guys, hence the vague exp figures and lack of first names.
