Any chance of getting the "old", from your previous release, hills back and fixed? :)

No for the moment, it is too much time expensive to fix "old hills" and now I am working on roads, railroads and major cities.
The new ones do not seem as detailed and a little too dark to me.

Here's two versions not so dark and a bit less red, please tell me which you prefer (rename it tiles_hills.bmp).

Where exactly do these files go?  I put them in the directory where the older files were but that didn't work.  I also tried the /altgraphics directory.

How is this thing installed.  (I find it amazing that the files contains no instructions.)

Thanks,

Well, here are the fixed "old" hills if anyone wants them. I think they look a little more like hills. Although the newer lighter ones are better than before. Thanks for the that.

You should be able to just place them in the C:\matrix GameThe Operational Art of War\AltGraphics directory that was created on installation.

I have done a massive revision of the terrain files of my TOAW 3 mod, I have also added alternative main (open) terrain specific for winter and mediterranean scenarios... for now this is all, I would like to finish my 3D mod but I am short of time and I am waiting to know if it will be possible to have NATO symbols on counters [&o], without this possibility I think 3D have no chances to be usable[:(].

Do you mean putting a small 2d counter from the 2D counter set onto the large 3D view, that should be possible.

Can you post or email a mock-up of what you're looking for?

Thanks,

I'll play with it and let you know. The upgrade after this will be for the UI, so...

for now this is all

Last famous words, I have added (only now, sorry!) mountainous terrain in jm_mod_toaw3_terrain_2.1.zip, if you have already downloaded v. 2.0 here is the addition files (please rename file extension from .txt to .zip, this forum don't support zip files):

I think I've screwed up somewhere. I get no graphics in my top right corner and all my flags on both sides are blue. I tried putting the counters after seeing no change with the altgraphics in my graphics folder. Can anyone help me out of this mess? I'll settle for the original graphics at this point.

If you've changed the graphics by adding some file in your altgraphics folder....well, just remove the offending file and all should be well.

Thanks Larry. That's easier said than done. Unfortunately, even when I uninstall and reinstall the game the problem returns.

NEW! The zip file contains my old counters but also new small 2d counters, a clean version to have better AARs. [;)]

Download from SZO
Download from rapidshare

Image

NB I have now added Numbers.bmp (and Numbers_ALT.bmp, an alternative version to use with my "alt" counters) in small-large_2d_counters.zip to have light counter numbers with my counters.

You can also download them separately
from SZO
from rapidshare

Awesome!! One turn late for today's posting but they'll be in my next one. It's funny, I was just thinking that I'm finally content with my mods, not having changed anything for quite a while. Thanx again JMass

Here's my mod's last update, I have correct or added a few files (also camo counters for Waffen SS!). This release is complete (gui, counters and terrain files) and you don't need to download other old packages. Files in ALT directories are alternative replacements.

Download jm_mod_toaw3_2.31 from NetWargaming Italia

Download jm_mod_toaw3_2.31 from zShare

Because file's size is too big for GameSquad I have divided it in four files:
toaw3_gui_jm_mod_2.31.zip
toaw3_counters_jm_mod_2.31.zip
terrainA_jm_mod_toaw3_2.31.zip
terrainB_jm_mod_toaw3_2.31.zip

Edit: I've found a little error in dark grey counters, version 2.31 is correct but if you have downloaded version 2.3 please download counters_fix_2.31.zip.txt, rename it to counters_fix_2.31.zip, unzip it and overwrite old files.
