07/11/1942situation
In China the siege of Yennen continues. 3 Japanese armies, that is 12 divisions of infantry and supports are attacking the city. I'm gradually bringing the forts down. My bombers slow the chinese efforts to bring the forts down and also destroy supply and cause casualties. Losses are heavy however. Hopefully my troops have more support than the Chinese and should recover faster.

In PNG the 7th Australian division is now rotting in the Jungle south of Gilli Gilli.
My transports are reloading the Imperial and Support troops. PM invasion convoys are heading towards Rabaul. Carrier divisions also moving to Rabaul to refuel.

Burma is a training ground for allied air a the moment. However, within a month I will have 80xp Tony Sentai and plenty of flak in the area. The aim is not to start a full scale air war in the area but rather to keep the allied air honest in the area.
I've taken the advantage in air losses with the battle over PNG costing the allies about 150 aircraft.
Some troops have reached Singapore. I keep them in reserve andwill use them to start my defensive Perimeter.
The first defensive layer will be made of naval guard units. For the moment they are recovering strength in Rabaul and Kwajalein. The first 3 MLE will be available in August. I will then start mining operations.

If Max repeats his efforts in our game, Burma will be a big focus for him.
He will use his heavies mercilessly to destroy airfields, ports, heavy industry and shipping they can reach.
Have fun!

RE: 07/11/1942situation
B24s and mines are causing a lot of Mayhem. My subs have some success in the South Pacific but allied ASW is deadly.
In Burma we play a house rule. If the allies take two cities other than Akyab the Japanese can send some reiforcements from China without paying PPs. I just wonder why all those chinese forces are sitting on the road betwaeen China and Indochina[8|]
In Burma I do not attempt to fight an air war. I lost about 200 aircraft on the ground. Mainly transport and recon. I'm gonna move every single flak unit I have there. This should cost him a few extra aircraft if he wants to play the bad guy there[:D]
For the moment I have 4 divisions and 2 brigades there. I will gradually send reinforcements there. Also Once I get Tonys, I will keep a few crack Tony units in reserve in the area to make occasional CAP, just to remind him it can be unhealthy to launch unescorted raids.
Otherwise my main objective is to take PM. 6 divsions are already on transports with some supports. plus the imperial guard and some support troops are currently in Gilli Gilli. I should have over 200 000 men against a little under 50 000.
Taking PM should delay an allied offensive in the area for several months and also avoid the kind of aerial blood bath I had in my other campaign where I shot down over 1500 Japanese aircraft in 6 months int he area. Destroying some allied troops would also be a nice side effect of this operation.
There's already one Australian division rotting in the jungle.
In the Southb Pacific I'm waiting for the navalguardsunitsto recover strength before I start deploying them but I will send the first ones soon. I need to start building my defensive perimeter now and a half strength naval guard is better than nothing.....

RE: 07/21/1942 PM invaded
My invasion task forces eventually hit PM.
There are about 50000 allied troops there. 32nd US division, two australian brigades a CD units and various base forces and engineers. I have 6 divisions 4 tank regiments two army HQs and some construction and base force units. Artillery and assault engineers are still around Gilli Gilli with the Imperial guard. I have 200000 men with another 50000 about 1 week behind.
Over 100000 have already been landed.I will soon be able to start the assault. Losses are heavy due to CD guns mines subs and B24s. I must take PM. All in all the Assault on Gilli Gilli and PM will probably cost me up to 100 ships sunk or badly damaged.
KB is raiding North Australian airfields. 99 allied aircraft destroyed today against only 5 Japanese. In two days over 60 heavies have been destroyed. I am geting low on fuel though.
In China, Yenen fortifications were reduced to 0 but afollowup assault failed against fresly rebuilt forts. I have the whole IJAAF committed to bombing Yenen. This has almost no impact. My forces are tired. Ican't give up the fight though.
In Burma I'm sending some reinforcements. Constructions engineers and Flak units will get there in a few weeks.

RE: PM CAPTURED
Our glorious forces attacked PM and captured the base attheirforst assault.
Enemy defenses collapsed and their forces retreated on the road between PM an Buna. A marine CD unit surrendered, the rest of the allied troops retreated. I've lost many ships though in this operation. Transports and MSW were badly hit. I have about 30 badly damaged ships docked in PM. Afew of them aresinking each day.
The allies now have 2 divisions and 2 brigades stranded in New Guinea. This seriously reducesthe enemy offensive capabilities.
There are probably two or three US divisions covering New Caledonia.
I'm starting to withdraw troop fron PM, for use elsewhere. I now have 3 different directions for further offensive operations.
-Central Pacific
-New Caledonia
-NW Australia
I haven't made thedecision yet.
In China the struggle for Yennen continues. A Flying tigers squadron went in and shot a number of bombers but it was anihilated by the following raids. I shifted a few fighter daitai to ensure that all my raids will be escortes.
Dive bombers have been set to airfield attack. I must inflict as much damage as possible on the airfield sothat the chinese can't rebuild their fort. I've ordered a deliberate attack for tomorrow. Another airfield should soon open which will add 100 lilies to the fight.
Reinforcements are slowly moving to Burma. I hope my Flak units will be able to shoot down a few enemy aircraft.

RE: PM CAPTURED
Around 60,000 allied troops were deployed in PNG. I must finish them off during the new few months. Air losses have been kept at a sustainable level. In a few days I will get Tojos and Tonys.

As an allied player I'd say go for New Caledonia, if he hasn't reinforced a lot. Most Cent Pac bases are already out of allied fighter range so taking a few more would be nice, but not crucial. NW Australia can be bypassed by an assault directly on Timor or Java.
What's the current date, BTW?

RE: PM CAPTURED
current date is 07/24/1942.
It would be nice to take Noumea but it's probably heavily defended. I'm ordering some recon in the area.
There seems to be a lot of activity in the Central and south Pacific island. I'm seriously thinking about moving there in force to disrupt the allied build up.
However I'm low on supplies in the area and my troops need some preparation.
So far I'm reloading my troops. 300000 men were engaged between Gilli Gilli and Port Moresby. Heavies should start pounding PM soon. But I had better have them pound PM rather than Rabaul.
In China my assault on Yennen brought the fort to 0 again. I've ordered more bombers to bomb the airfield and lowered altitude from 15000 to 8000 feet. This should help slow down the chinese engineers. I will launch an other assault in about 3 to 5 days. My forces are revovering a bit faster thanthe chinese are rebuilding their forts.
