Did troops get to have home leave during WW2?

I had two uncles in the US Navy in the Pacific and neither had leave during the war.  My Dad was in the US Army in the France/Germany and didn't get leave either.  All were enlisted/NCOs.

Hi all,

I think that in WWII all German soldiers (even privates) had chance to go home (1x a year?)...
