He's just a one man band and is currently realeasing albums while in jail. He has rejected his old music saying its based on rock, which is based on blues which comes from negros...Yes he is racist but we all something in the end, so I see no need to dislike him, his view of the world is just as relevent as anyone elses. :)

Mighty Muzrub.
Well, I disagree with you on this last sentence but we'll ignore that for now. :D
I wanted to download one song or two, to get an impression why you like his music. I started with 'Rundgang um die transzendentale Säule der Singularität' (lol...or however it is spelled) and was pretty bored as all what I got in the first few minutes, were three tones that were repeated in two different 'rythms'.
Assuming that this was not the very special atmosphere you were talking about, could you recommend one or two songs? ....of course they won't stay very long on my hard-disk, since my conscience forbids me to tolerate them... :)

Ooooboy! Here it goes, and there's no escape. :)

I'm a 18 year old guy from Malmö (pronounced "malmeux") Sweden (there's a hell of a lot Swedes at this forum!) :D and I'm currently enjoying my summer holiday. At the end of the summer I'll enter my last year at senior high school and next summer I'm being drafted for my compulsory military service, which will last for 15 months. In the future (about three years from now) I'm planning to attend one of the three military academies here in Sweden and hopefully become an officer in the Army or the Air Force (I think I'll try becoming a fighter pilot).

My hobbies are WW2, military strategy, military tactics (mainly infantry), reading, swimming, running, martial arts (well, only karate, which I have a black belt in :D ).

I came across WIR a week ago, but haven't advanced more than two weeks into the game  . I welcome all help I can get! :D

My Christian name is Fredrik (the Swedish version of Frederick, Friedrich or Federico), which means something like "ruler of peace". My middle names are Claus and Gabriel, the first one meaning "the one who always wins" and the second means "God's champion", or maybe it was the other way around! :D

Enough about me (I have a huge ego, as you may notice), I'm thrilled that so many people have described themselves, making our community stronger and perhaps even better.

Over and out, Rundstedt ;)

Hey, I have been wondering about all the Swedes myself. First a large Swedish corporation called Securitas bought the company I worked at for 18 years last summer, and now this (which I was actually happy with). :p It must all be part of a plot to either take over the world, or it is a major demonstration of mind control and soon everyone will think they are Swedes and they will take over the world anyway. There are a lot of Finns also on the board, per capita, so maybe it is a Nordic thing? Oh well, sounds okay to me, although if I start thinking I am Norwegian I will really be scared.

Mm...yes! (sounding like Mr. Burns) Of course it's a Nordic conspiracy to take over the entire world. WE ARE EVERYWHERE! :D No, honestly, I think the answer lies in the fact that Sweden is extremely developed when it comes to IT and so on. Almost every Swede has access to the Net, that's why we're taking over every server in the entire world! ;)

My other theory, maybe a less probable one, is that we Swedes (males) are more interested in wargaming and military conflicts due to the fact we haven't been to war "for real" since 1814. Now remember, that's 187 years! :p Not so easy to beat, eh?

Hi , I’m 24 and from Kentucky, USA. Many years ago I was playing Second Front but only fairly recently found this reincarnation. I am pleasantly surprised at the how many others still enjoy this game after all these years. I have yet to play a human player, as for now I am working on the basics of the game.

After high school I studied computer and information systems, with a minor in history. Eventually changed majors and graduated in electronics, and now work as a laboratory technician for a big corporation.

My interests lie in computers and more specifically in wargames. I had been following the Road to Moscow computer game for years now, but it has been unfortunately cancelled. Another product I have my eye on is Silent hunter 2 from SSI. For whomever might be interested another game about the eastern front is a game called Russo-German war and it is due out this summer. This is a link to the game site, you can look at some pics of it and see for yourself if you might like. http://www.ghg.net/schwerpt/

I have noticed how several of you are quiet knowledgably in WW2. There is a forum at historychannel.com that is devoted to WW2 and I bet several of you would really like it over there.

Currently I am really looking forward to a vacation with my girlfriend, which I am going to take in August. Three weeks of heaven, and it starts about 14 days from now.

Naw, the Nordic circle ain't complete. You need equitable representation from the Danes, Norwegians and Icelanders. ;) Incidentally, I was wondering myself why we don't seem to have any forumers from those countries. All these countries are well connected to the Net too.

It would seem that I end up in the junior end of the age spectrum of this board, being 22.

I'm studying information systems at Jyväskylä University, and still have a few years of studying to do to get my master's degree.

For the summer I've moved to Helsinki to earn some money writing Java-code. This has somewhat restricted my computer time, but after spending the day coding there is not much enthusiasm left to play anyway...

Besides playing WiR I tend to spend my time playing basketball (being almost 2m tall this should not be a surprise) and all the usual stuff in student's life (mostly concerning certain brewed liquids :)

I was in Jyväskyla a couple of summers ago on a wedding. Interesting party, lots of vodka. I specifically remember (sort of) being hauled into a caravan belonging to someone called Jukka who made his own vodka and also had some Whisky ('it's only 4 years old, but I have three bottles, so that makes it twelve').

somehow I'm not surprised :)

Must have been quite a party then, but not quite perfect, as you still seem to be able to remember at least something :)

disclaimer: :D
Kids: Don't try this at home. Heavy drinking, is bad for you! Remember this children, and remember always to listen to your parents! :D

Us old-timer's gotta stick together. If nothing else, we can console each other over the ravages of rampant ear-hair growth. :p

Young man, we are not here for you're amusement. Ear-hair growth is nothing to laugh about. This disease has reached epidemic proportions in elder gentlemen. It greatly effects the hearing sense. Many a night, my wife has made the comment, "Didn't you hear me, I said are you going to quit playing that computer game and come to bed?"
It also effects you're self-esteem as I have had to greatly reduce my dating because of my shame of having unsightly ear-hair. This has become one of our most important but overlooked social problems. If it was any other disease, it would have a web site dedicated to it, and also government funded agencies in charge of finding a cure. Even a simple support group would be helpful.
I propose that we start one. Everyone on this forum send me money.
Send donations in the form of cash, check, money order, or cans and bottles that can be turned in for deposit to:
Don Shafer
Executive Director Association for the Prevention of Ear Hair Growth
209 2nd Ave. SW
Pocahontas, IA. 50574 U.S.A.

Don't delay, the donation you make today could find a cure tommorow!

Thanks, buddy, I feel better already( :( ). Remember though, keep the ear-hair trimmed and you look 2 years younger. And please don't mention Paul anymore, or all these guys will find out that you and I are really Simon and Garfunkel ( :D ), not that many will even know who they are, the young whippersnappers.

And you can keep your donations to yourself. I tell you I don't need help with my ear hair - I am in complete denial of having any significant problem with it.

I would post my life story but am afraid what a couple of 41 year old kids who refer to themselves as old-timers would call me.

Good one, but maybe a little to respectful. I won't mention any others that come to mind. But Svar could still post something and leave the age out of it (or just plain lie). I am just surprised that the ear hair isn't so long for him that it makes it hard to see the computer screen :p .
